Bohol's 3rd Congressional District
Bohol's 3rd congressional district is one of the three congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Bohol. It has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 1916 and earlier in the Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1916. The district consists of the southeastern municipalities of Alicia, Anda, Batuan, Bilar, Candijay, Carmen, Dimiao, Duero, Garcia Hernandez, Guindulman, Jagna, Lila, Loay, Loboc, Mabini, Pilar, Sevilla, Sierra Bullones and Valencia. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Alexie Tutor of the Nacionalista Party (NP). The House of Representatives of the Philippines ( fil, Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawan ng Pilipinas, italic=unset, ''Kamara'' or ''Kamara de Representantes'' from the Spanish language, Spanish word ''cámara'', meaning "chamber") is the lower house of Congress of the Philippines, Congress, the bicameral legislature of the Philippines, with the Senate of the Philippines as the upper house. Jagna
Jagna, officially the Municipality of Jagna ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Jagna; tgl, Bayan ng Jagna), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 35,832 people. Jagna is located on the southern coast of Bohol. It is one of the commercial trading centers of the province with daily market and port operations. Of interest to visitors is the town church built during the Spanish era, with its ceiling frescoes and baroque architecture. A waterfall and a spring reservoir can be found on the highlands, accessible by road travel north. A marine sanctuary zone has been set up by the local government just off the shore. A double reef is protected inside the sanctuary zone and marked off by buoys to restrict access from fishers. Like Tagbilaran, Jagna is a port town. Ferries travel daily to and from other islands. 19th Congress Of The Philippines
The 19th Congress of the Philippines ( fil, Ikalabinsiyam na Kongreso ng Pilipinas), composed of the Philippine Senate and House of Representatives, convened on July 25, 2022. The 19th Congress is meeting during the first three years of Bongbong Marcos's presidency, and will end on June 4, 2025. The convening of the 19th Congress followed the 2022 general elections, which replaced half of the Senate membership and the entire membership of the House of Representatives. Philippine Assembly
The Philippine Assembly (sometimes called the Philippine National Assembly) was the lower house of the Philippine Legislature from 1907 to 1916, when it was renamed the House of Representatives of the Philippines. The Philippine Assembly was the first national legislative body fully chosen by elections. The Assembly was created by the 1902 Philippine Organic Act of the United States Congress, which established the Insular Government of the Philippines. Congressional districts of the Philippines ( fil, distritong pangkapulungan) refers to the electoral districts or constituencies in which the country is divided for the purpose of electing 253 of the 316 members of the House of Representatives (with the other 63 being elected through a system of party-list proportional representation). The country is currently divided into 253 congressional districts, also known as legislative districts or representative districts, with each one representing at least 250,000 people or one entire province. Alexie Tutor
Kristine Alexie Besas-Tutor, also known in Bohol as Lexie (born January 24, 1981), is a Filipino businesswoman and politician. She is a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Third District of Bohol. Education Kristine Alexie completed both her basic education in 1993 and secondary education in 1997 at the Holy Spirit School of Tagbilaran. In 2002, she finished her tertiary education and graduated BS Physical Therapy at Velez College in Cebu City. Currently, she is a licensed physical therapist by profession and a law graduate. Valencia, officially the Municipality of Valencia ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Valencia; tgl, Bayan ng Valencia), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 28,392 people. It is on the southern coast of Bohol, from Tagbilaran. There are elementary schools in the poblacion and in the barrios. Pilar, officially the Municipality of Pilar ( ceb, Munisipyo sa Pilar; tgl, Bayan ng Pilar), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 28,693 people. The town of Pilar, Bohol celebrates its fiesta on October 10, to honor the town patron Virgen del Pilar. History Pilar was formerly a barrio known as Banlasan, which is used to be the town center of the municipality of Sierra Bullones.
