Governor Of Bohol
The Governor of Bohol ( fil, Punong Lalawigan ng Bohol) is the local chief executive of the provincial government of Bohol, Philippines. The governor holds office at the Bohol New Provincial Capitol in Tagbilaran City and its official residence is at the Governor's Mansion located along Carlos P. Garcia Avenue in Cogon District, also in Tagbilaran. Like all local government heads in the Philippines, the governor is elected via popular vote, and may not be elected for a fourth consecutive term (although the former governor may return to office after an interval of one term). In case of death, resignation or incapacity, the vice governor becomes the governor. Along with the governors of Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, together with the city mayors of Cebu, Lapu-lapu, and Mandaue, the province's chief executive is a member of the Regional Development Council of the Central Visayas Region. "''Awit sa Bohol''" ( Boholano for "Song of Bohol"), also known as the Bohol Hymn, is the official anthem of the province of Bohol in the Philippines. History The song was composed by Justino Romea of Loon, a columnist for the ''Bohol Chronicle'' and a teacher at the Bohol School of Arts and Trades (now the Bohol Island State University), with Romea also writing the hymn's original English lyrics. Commissioned by Governor Lino Chatto, it was first played on March 1, 1970 by an all-female choir of the College of the Holy Spirit (now the Holy Spirit School of Tagbilaran) as the provincial flag was being raised during the opening ceremony for the East Visayan Athletic Association Games in Tagbilaran, the provincial capital. Tagbilaran, officially the City of Tagbilaran ( ceb, Dakbayan sa Tagbilaran), is a 3rd class component city and capital of the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 104,976 people. Encompassing a land area of , with a coastline of on the southwestern part of the island, the city shares its boundaries with the towns of Cortes, Corella, and Baclayon. Erico Aristotle Cabagnot Aumentado (born December 29, 1977), also known in Bohol as Aris, is a Filipino businessman and politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives, representing the second district of Bohol. He is the Governor of the Province of Bohol, assuming office on June 30, 2022. Batuan, officially the Municipality of Batuan ( ceb, Lungsod sa Batuan; tgl, Bayan ng Batuan), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. Balilihan, officially the Municipality of Balilihan ( ceb, Lungsod sa Balilihan; tgl, Bayan ng Balilihan), is a 4th class rural municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. Antequera, officially the Municipality of Antequera ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Antequera; tgl, Bayan ng Antequera), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. Catigbian, officially the Municipality of Catigbian ( ceb, Munisipyo sa Catigbian; tgl, Bayan ng Catigbian), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 23,805 people. Catigbian was formerly known as San Jacinto, and officially changed to its current name in 1954. Catigbian is named after a certain group of seed-bearing plants named "Katigbi" (''Coix lacrymajobi''), which grow abundantly. Panglao is an island in the north Bohol Sea, located in the Central Visayas region of the Visayas island group, in the south-central Philippines. Geography The island has an area of . It is within Bohol Province, and comprises two municipalities: Dauis and Panglao. Panglao island is located southwest of the island of Bohol and east and south of Cebu. Panglao has a terrain that ranges from plain, hilly to mountainous. Panglao is made of Maribojoc limestone, the youngest of the limestone units found in the western area of Bohol. Baclayon, officially the Municipality of Baclayon ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Baclayon; tgl, Bayan ng Baclayon), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines.
