Bogdan Stelea
Bogdan Gheorghe Stelea (; born 5 December 1967) is a Romanian retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and a current coach. Having played professionally into his 40s, he played for all three major Liga I clubs in his country's capital, and also spent a vast part of his career in Spain, mainly with Salamanca, also Stelea played nearly 100 times for Romania, and represented the nation in three World Cups and two European Championships. FC Viitorul Constanța
Fotbal Club Viitorul Constanța (), commonly known as Viitorul Constanța or simply Viitorul, was a Romanian professional football club based in Ovidiu, Constanța County. They last played their home matches in blue and black kits at the Stadionul Viitorul, situated a few kilometres north of the city of Constanța. Founded in 2009 by Gheorghe Hagi, the team was particularly known for promoting young talents from its academy, which earned them the nickname "Hagi's Kids". The 1989–90 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won for the only time by Sampdoria in the final against Anderlecht, 2–0 at Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg, on 9 May 1990. Away Goals Rule
The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaker, tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals "Road (sports), away from home" wins. This is sometimes expressed by saying that away goals "count double" in the event of a tie, though in practice the team with more away goals is simply recorded as the victor, rather than having additional or 'double' goals added to their total. The 1988–89 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won for the third time by Barcelona in the final against Italian entrants Sampdoria. The two sides would meet again in the 1992 European Cup Final, which Barcelona also won. Wimbledon did not participate due to UEFA's five-year ban on English clubs from European competition. Dumitru Moraru
Dumitru Moraru (born 8 May 1956) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper from 1972 until 1991. Club career Dumitru Moraru was born in București, growing up in the Pantelimon neighborhood, where he started playing football in 1966 at the junior teams of Metalul București, where he earned the nickname "Țețe" (Tsetse) after a teammate told him in a cantonment that he sleeps so much as he would have been bitten by a tsetse fly. In two seasons spent at Metalul's senior team, he played 56 games in Divizia B, after which he went to play for Steaua București. He made his Divizia A debut on 25 August 1974, playing for Steaua in a derby against Dinamo București, which ended with a 2–0 loss. Mircea Lucescu
Mircea Lucescu (; born 29 July 1945) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently head coach of Ukrainian Premier League club Dynamo Kyiv. He is one of the most decorated managers of all time. Lucescu is also one of the most successful players of the Romanian league championship, having won all of his seven titles with Dinamo București. Apart from the latter club, he had spells at Știința București and Corvinul Hunedoara, and made 70 appearances for the Romania national team, which he captained in the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Florin Prunea
Florin Prunea (born 8 August 1968) is a Romanian former football goalkeeper. He was born in Bucharest and started his career for Dinamo București. His breakthrough came with U Cluj in the 1988/89 season. In 1991, he won with Universitatea Craiova both the title and the Romanian Cup. Later he was the first-choice goalkeeper for Dinamo București for six seasons. Prunea got 40 caps for the national team, and represented his country at the 1994 World Cup, Euro 1996, 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000. In the 1994 World Cup, he replaced Bogdan Stelea as the goalkeeper in Romania's starting eleven after a devastating 1–4 loss against Switzerland, which shattered Stelea's confidence. Iosif Varga (footballer)
Iosif Varga (6 April 1941 – 22 May 1992) was a Romanian footballer who played as a forward and also was a manager. Club career Iosif Varga, nicknamed ''Piți'' was born on 4 December 1941 in Bucharest. At the age of 10 he went to play football at the junior squads of Dinamo București, where on 24 August 1958 he became the youngest player that scored in his Divizia A debut match, when at 16 years, 8 months and 20 days he scored a hat-trick against Steagul Roșu Brașov in a 6–0 victory.
