It also operates its own fitness-themed social network, BodySpace, with over 2.7 million active members. The success of the website has led to a number of proprietary sports nutrition products and accessories being developed and sold under its name. Bodybuilding is the use of progressive resistance exercise to control and develop one's muscles (muscle building) by muscle hypertrophy for aesthetic purposes. It is distinct from similar activities such as powerlifting because it focuses on physical appearance instead of strength. An individual who engages in this activity is referred to as a bodybuilder. Biography Cicherillo's first bodybuilding competition was the 1981 Natural America, where he placed 4th in the teen tall class.
