Bobby Cummings
Robert Douglas Cummings (17 November 1935 – 26 August 2008) was an English professional footballer who scored 33 goals from 63 appearances in the Scottish League for Aberdeen and 69 goals from 170 appearances in the Football League playing for Newcastle United, Darlington and Hartlepools United. He played as a centre forward or outside right. He also played in the South African National Football League for Port Elizabeth City. Career Cummings was born in Ashington, Northumberland, in 1935. He began his football career as a youngster with Newcastle United but was released before reaching the first team and signed for Ashington. The club record he set of 60 goals in 1958–59, as Ashington finished second to Peterborough United in the Midland League, still stands, and his goalscoring earned him a move to Aberdeen. Ashington
Ashington is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, with a population of 27,864 at the 2011 Census. It was once a centre of the coal mining industry. The town is north of Newcastle upon Tyne, west of the A189 and bordered to the south by the River Wansbeck. The North Sea coast at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is away. Midland Football League (1889)
The Midland Football League was a semi-professional football league in England. It acted as a feeder league to the Football League for many years before merging with the Yorkshire League in 1982 to form the Northern Counties East League. Hartlepools United
Hartlepool United Football Club is a professional association football club based in Hartlepool, County Durham, England. The team competes in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system. They were founded in 1908 as Hartlepools United Football Athletic Company. West Hartlepool won the FA Amateur Cup in 1905 and after the club was dissolved in 1910 its assets and liabilities were subsequently taken over by Hartlepools United, who were then playing in the North Eastern League. Stockport County
Stockport County Football Club are a professional association football, football club in Stockport, England, who compete in EFL League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system. Formed in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, they were renamed Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. Ron McGarry
Ronald James McGarry (born 5 December 1937 in Whitehaven) is a former professional footballer, who played centre forward for Whitehaven, Workington, Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Barrow, South Coast United, Bulli, Balgownie Rangers and Gateshead Gateshead () is a large town in northern England. Alf McMichael
Alfred McMichael (1 October 1927 – 7 January 2006) was a footballer who played as a left back. Belfast-born McMichael began his career at Linfield, before signing for Newcastle United in 1949. He remained at Newcastle until 1962, appearing 433 times and scoring once for the club. He was part of the team that won the 1952 FA Cup Final, after his disappointment of missing the final the year before through injury. At one point he was considered the best left-back in Britain and was a popular player amongst Newcastle United supporters. He represented Northern Ireland 40 times.
