Bob Bacon
Robert Bacon is a retired educator and Democratic politician from Fort Collins, Colorado. Bacon served as a Democratic member of the Colorado Senate, representing the 14th district from 2005 to 2013. Bacon also served in the Colorado State House from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, he was elected twice to the Poudre School District Board of Education, serving from 1991 to 1999. Bacon Elementary School is named in his honor. Biography Born in Galesburg, Illinois, Bacon earned a B.S. in social sciences at Illinois State University in 1957, and taught high school in Illinois before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1959. He received a master's degree in history from University of Northern Colorado in 1961 while teaching in Poudre School District, where he remained until 1991, when he took a post at Front Range Community College for four years and then retiring. Colorado's 14th Senate district is one of 35 districts in the Colorado Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Joann Ginal since 2019, following her appointment to succeed fellow Democrat John Kefalas. Poudre School District
The Poudre School District (R-1) is a K–12 public school district in Larimer County in northern Colorado. The district operates and manages the public schools in the city of Fort Collins, as well as in the towns of Wellington, Timnath, Loveland and Windsor, and unincorporated communities of Larimer County including Laporte and Livermore. The district is one of the fastest growing in Northern Colorado, adding 400-500 students — about the size of an elementary school — each year. The district was formed in 1960 by the consolidation of several dozen existing districts in Larimer County, and is the ninth largest in the state. Front Range Community College (FRCC) is a public community college with multiple campuses in Colorado. It has campuses in Westminster, Longmont, and Fort Collins, as well as centers in Brighton and Loveland. It is the largest community college in Colorado and the most popular transfer institution for the University of Colorado-Boulder, Colorado State University, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and CSU Global.
