Bluey (7 June 1910 – 14 November 1939) was a female Australian cattle dog owned by Les and Esma Hall of Rochester, Victoria, Australia. She previously held the record worldwide as the World's Oldest Lived Dog, until this record was surpassed and certified by Guinness World Records, on 10 January 2023, that the World's Oldest Dog is Bobi, (born 11 May 1992) from Conqueiros, Portugal who was recorded as 30 years, 243 days Second oldest dog in history According to ''Guinness World Records'', (2007 edition), Bluey (1910-1939) lived 29 years, 5 months, and at that time was the oldest lived dog ever verified. Creme Puff (August 3, 1967 – August 6, 2005) was a domestic cat, owned by Jake Perry of Austin, Texas, US. She was the oldest cat ever recorded, according to the 2010 edition of ''Guinness World Records'', when she died aged 38 years and 3 days. Perry had another cat, Granpa Rex Allen, who he said was born in Paris, Texas, on 1 February 1964 and died aged 34 years and 59 days on 1 April 1998. Rochester, Victoria
Rochester is a small town in rural Victoria, Australia. It is located north of Melbourne with a mixture of rural and semi-rural communities on the northern Campaspe River, between Bendigo and the Murray River port of Echuca. At the , Rochester had a population of 3,154. History The area around the Campaspe River was known as Yalooka, which for thousands of years was home to the Pinpandoor, the local tribe of Aboriginal Australians. Rochester (via ''Rowechester'') was named after Dr John Pearson Rowe, who had a hotel here before the township was gazetted in 1855. Max (9 August 1983 – 18 May 2013) was a beagle, dachshund and terrier mix whose owner claimed that he had lived 29 years and 282 days. His owner, Janelle Derouen, adopted him from a Louisiana sugar cane farmer in 1983. In August 2009, ''The Telegraph'' reported that Max had veterinary records proving his age and that at 29 he was the world's oldest living dog. He was 3 years older than Pusuke, a Shiba Inu who, at 26 years of age, had previously been considered the oldest living dog. On May 15, 2013, the Guinness World Records organization was purported to have approved a claim made by Janelle DeRouen for Max to be recognized as the World's Oldest Dog.
