BlueBilly Grit
BlueBilly Grit, commonly abbreviated BBG, is an American bluegrass band originating from Maysville, Georgia. The band is a sextet composed of female and male vocals, acoustic guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo. BlueBilly Grit has released two albums — ''Mill Grinder's Blues'' (2009), ''Ready For A Change'' (2011) and ''Live at the Melting Point'' (2013). In 2012, BlueBilly Grit won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition. In addition, BlueBilly Grit has performed in numerous radio and television broadcasts, including ''Nuts and Bolts of Fishing'' which aired on Turner South and the ''Moby in the Morning Show'' which airs on WNGC WNGC (106.1 FM) is a Cox Media Group radio station in North Georgia that plays country music; it was at 95.5 from 1968-1999. Maysville is a town in Banks and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 1,798 at the 2010 census, up from 1,247 at the 2000 census. History The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Maysville as a town in 1879. Geography Maysville is located at (34.255518, -83.558222). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.27%, is water. Maysville is northeast of Atlanta. Towns within include Commerce, Gillsville, Lula, Jefferson, and Pendergrass. Climate Maysville has a humid subtropical climate. Telluride Bluegrass Festival
Telluride Bluegrass Festival is an annual music festival in Telluride, Colorado hosted by Planet Bluegrass. Although traditionally the festival focuses on bluegrass music, it often features music from a variety of related genres. History The town of Telluride had for many years held a Fourth of July Celebration which had its roots in the early mining days of Telluride, when miners would come from down from the mountains to party and meet up with old friends and meet some women. The celebration included a fireworks display operated by the local fire department. In 1972, the Telluride Ski Resort opened, and the Town of Telluride expanded the Celebration and advertised it widely in all the surrounding states. WNGC (106.1 FM) is a Cox Media Group radio station in North Georgia that plays country music; it was at 95.5 from 1968-1999. Its city of license is Arcade with studios in Athens. Its transmitter is in Lula, Georgia. Station history Prior to December 1996, 106.1 was light rock Mix 106 before switching to country and calling itself "South 106". In the spring of 1999, WSTE built a new tower because at the time they were still in competition with WNGC---just before the two stations would merge.
