Sentinel Range
The Sentinel Range is a major mountain range situated northward of Minnesota Glacier and forming the northern half of the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica. The range trends NNW-SSE for about and is 24 to 48 km (15 to 30 mi) wide. Ellsworth Mountains
The Ellsworth Mountains are the highest mountain ranges in Antarctica, forming a long and wide chain of mountains in a north to south configuration on the western margin of the Ronne Ice Shelf in Marie Byrd Land. They are bisected by Minnesota Glacier to form the Sentinel Range to the north and the Heritage Range to the south. Zhenda Glacier
Zhenda Glacier ( bg, ледник Женда, lednik Zhenda, ) is the 8 km long and 4.8 km wide glacier on the east side of the main crest of northern Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains, Antarctica. It is situated west of Sabazios Glacier and southeast of Skaklya Glacier. The glacier drains the northeast slopes of Mount Sharp and the east slopes of Mount Barden, flows northeastwards and together with Skaklya Glacier joins Sabazios Glacier west of Mount Lanning in Sostra Heights. The glacier is named after the settlement of Zhenda in Southern Bulgaria. Location Zhenda Glacier is centred at . US mapping in 1961. Skaklya Glacier
Skaklya Glacier ( bg, ледник Скакля, lednik Skaklya, ) is the long and wide glacier on the east side of the main crest of northern Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains, Antarctica. It is situated northwest of Zhenda Glacier and southeast of the head of Vidul Glacier. The glacier drains the south slopes of Mount Reimer and the north slopes of Blenika Peak, flows east-northeastwards and together with Zhenda Glacier joins Sabazios Glacier west of Mount Lanning in Sostra Heights. Mount Barden
Mount Barden () is a mountain, 2,910 m, standing 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km) northwest of Mount Sharp in the north portion of the Sentinel Range. It surmounts Zhenda Glacier to the east. The mountain was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Virgil W. Barden, an ionospheric physicist and member of the 1957 wintering party at Byrd Station. Mount Reimer
Mount Reimer () is a mountain, 2,430 m, in the northern portion of the Sentinel Range, standing on the south side of Newcomer Glacier 5 mi southwest of Mount Warren. It surmounts Skaklya Glacier to the southeast and Vidul Glacier to the north-northwest. The mountain was named by US-ACAN for John D. Reimer of U.S. Navy Squadron VX-6, aerial photographer on flights over this range on Dec. 14–15, 1959. Mount Lanning
Mount Lanning () is a mountain, high, located at the south side of Newcomer Glacier, southeast of Mount Warren, in the northern portion of the Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains, Antarctica. It forms the north extremity of Sostra Heights, and surmounts Sabazios Glacier to the southwest and Anchialus Glacier to the southeast. The mountain was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos from 1957 to 1959, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for 1st Lieutenant Delmar L. Lanning of the United States Air Force who participated in establishing South Pole Station in the 1956–57 season.
