Blekinge Battalion
Blekinge Battalion ( sv, Blekinge bataljon), designated № 30, was an infantry unit of the Swedish Army that was active in various forms from 1887 to 1901. The unit was based in Ronneby. History Blekinge Battalion was raised on 1 January 1887, to serve the conscripts of Blekinge County. Its officers were mainly taken from the disbanded Marine Regiment (''Marinregementet''), and the force's strength was set at 300 men, which, in favor of Halland Battalion, was somewhat reduced according to the 1892 parliamentary decision. The battalion was based in Ronneby and trained at Bredåkra, at present Ronneby Airport. According to the 1901 Defense Reform, the battalion was disbanded as an independent unit on 31 December 1901. Instead it came together with Småland Grenadier Corps (№ 7) to form Karlskrona Grenadier Regiment on 1 January 1902. Blekinge Wing ( sv, Blekinge flygflottilj), also F 17 Kallinge, or simply F 17, is a Swedish Air Force wing with the main base located near Ronneby in southern Sweden. It is one of the three remaining wings in Sweden and currently has two squadrons of multirole aircraft. F 17 in the south and F 21 in the north are the two wings remaining to have operational squadrons. F 7 is a school where pilots begin their training in the JAS 39 Gripen. After that the pilot's training is moved out to the two operational wings there they learn their final skills. Karlskrona (, , ) is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with a population of 66,675 in 2018. It is also the capital of Blekinge County. The Karlskrona Grenadier Regiment ( sv, Karlskrona grenadjärregemente), designation I 7, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that operated from 1902 to 1927. The unit was based in Ränneslätt, about 2 km west of Eksjö. History Småland Grenadier Corps has its origins in the Småland Dragoon Regiment, which on 22 April 1812 was split into an infantry and a cavalry part. Halland Battalion ( sv, Hallands bataljon), designated № 28, was an infantry unit of the Swedish Army that was active in various forms from 1813 to 1901. The unit was based in Halmstad Garrison in Halmstad. History Halland Battalion was raised on 14 May 1813, under the name of ''Hallands läns första infanteribataljon'' ("Halland County First Infantry Battalion").
