Al Blades
Alphonso Blades (March 19, 1977 – March 20, 2003) was an American football safety who went to the University of Miami. He was selected as a first-team All-Big East player at Miami. He spent two years with the San Francisco 49ers. In March 2003, he was the passenger of former Plantation High School teammate Martel Johnson who was driving Blades' 1999 Mazda Millenia when it hit another car which they were racing. Both died in the crash. Early years Blades attended Plantation High School. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Miami. In 1996, he sat out the season with a medical redshirt. In 1997, he suffered a season-ending knee injury during the first fall practice. As a sophomore in 1998, he started 7 games and was fourth on the team with 82 tackles. Al Blades Jr. (born October 24, 1999) is an American professional football safety for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Miami and Duke. Early life Blades Jr attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He committed to the University of Miami to play college football. College career Miami As a true freshman in 2018, Blades Jr. recorded 13 tackles in 13 games. He played mainly on special teams. In 2019, Blades Jr. recorded 36 tackles and 2 interceptions in 13 games in which he started 7 of those. In 2020, he recorded 29 tackles and two interceptions. Cameron Blades (born 16 April 1971) is an Australian international former rugby union player who played at the loosehead prop position, but could also cover at tighthead prop and hooker. He played professionally for New South Wales Waratahs and Glasgow Warriors. Career Blades was born in Sydney. He had one full international cap for Australia against England in Sydney on 12 July 1997. Australia won the match 25 - 6. He also played for the Australian Under 21s. His brother Andrew Blades also played for Australia and was a member of the 1999 Rugby World Cup winning team. Daniel Blades, Lord Blades
Daniel Patterson Blades (25 August 1888 – 6 February 1959) was a Scottish judge. Life Blades was the son of Sarah Pow of Armadale and Rev. Charles Blades, minister of Allanton. He was educated at Berwickshire High School and the University of Edinburgh graduating with an MA and LLB. He was admitted as an advocate in 1915, and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Cameron Highlanders from 1915–1918. He was an Advocate Depute from 1929–1932, when he was appointed a King's Counsel and Sheriff of Forfar. In 1934 he moved to be Sheriff of Perth and Angus, a post he held until 1945. From 1938 to 1941 he was Deputy Chairman of the Fishery Board for Scotland from 1938 to 1941. In September 1945 he was appointed Solicitor General for Scotland. Jack Blades
Jack Martin Blades (born April 24, 1954) is an American rock musician. He has worked in the bands Rubicon, Night Ranger (as bassist and one of the lead vocalists), and Damn Yankees (as one of the founding members). He has also recorded with Tommy Shaw under the name Shaw Blades, and has done work alongside the Tak Matsumoto Group. Blades' most recent efforts include a second solo CD. Disappearance Of Mona Blades
Mona Elizabeth Blades was an 18-year-old New Zealand woman who disappeared in 1975 while hitchhiking. Her body and belongings have never been found and no one has been charged in connection with her disappearance and presumed murder. Disappearance Blades was hitchhiking from Hamilton to Hastings on Saturday 31 May 1975, the first day of the Queen's Birthday long weekend, and was allegedly last seen on the Napier–Taupo Road in an orange Datsun 120Y station wagon. A truck driver saw Blades getting into the Datsun and witnesses reported seeing a matching vehicle veering off the highway and stopping on rural Matea Road. Investigation There have been about five suspects in the case. Auckland police investigated John Freeman who had rented an orange Datsun the weekend that Blades disappeared.
