Marvin Bernard (born March 31, 1978), better known by his stage name Tony Yayo, is an American rapper. He is best known as a member of G-Unit, a hip hop group he formed with his childhood friends 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks. Yayo released his debut and only studio album, '' Thoughts of a Predicate Felon'', in 2005, which debuted at number 2 on the ''Billboard'' 200. His stage name is derived from the 1983 film '' Scarface'', referencing the main character Tony Montana, and Yayo, the slang word for cocaine. Early life Yayo was born Marvin Bernard in Brooklyn, New York, New York City to Haitian parents, the youngest of three children. Bernard's parents divorced when he was 16. East Coast Rap
East Coast hip hop is a regional subgenre of hip hop music that originated in New York City during the 1970s. Hip hop is recognized to have originated and evolved first in the Bronx, New York City. In contrast to other styles, East Coast hip hop music has prioritized complex lyrics for attentive listening rather than beats for dancing. He is currently signed to G-Unit Records and its subsidiary label, Shadyville Entertainment. He is the host of ''The Whoolywood Shuffle'' on Sirius/XM Radio Shade 45. His productions often incorporate a clip of him shouting his stage name. Leonard Grant (born July 25, 1980), better known by his stage name Uncle Murda, is an American rapper from East New York, Brooklyn. He is Afro Panamanian of his mother's side. He is currently signed to G-Unit Records. He is known for his annual retrospective "Rap Up" song series, which he began in 2014. Career In 2007, his manager and DJ Green Lantern introduced Uncle Murda's music to Jay-Z. The Brooklyn-born rapper/CEO signed Uncle Murda to Roc-A-Fella Records soon after. Curtis Williams (born January 19, 1976), more commonly known as Spider Loc, is an American rapper and actor. He was formerly signed to Interscope Records and 50 Cent's G-Unit Records. Biography Spider Loc was discovered by Suge Knight and tagged along with Death Row Records, which appears on the Dysfunktional Family soundtrack, and Kurupt Against tha Grain under the name "Spider", but never signed an agreement. In September 2004 Spider Loc met rapper Young Buck in Atlanta and performed for him. A week later in Los Angeles, Young Buck introduced him to 50 Cent on the set of "Shorty Wanna Ride" video and he performed a freestyle rap. After four months the rapper signed a record deal with G-Unit. Lawrence Carl Demetrious White,(born 16 December 1979) better known by his stage name 40 Glocc, is an American rapper. Early life White was born in Greenville, Texas. At the age of 10, he moved with his mother to various locations in California, until finally settling in the Inland Empire city of Colton.
