The Puget Sound Navigation Company (PSNC) was founded by Charles E. Peabody in 1898. Today the company operates an international passenger and vehicle ferry service between Port Angeles, WA and Victoria, BC on the Coho. History In the past, the company operated an entire fleet of steamboats and ferries on Puget Sound in Washington and the Georgia Strait in British Columbia. Known colloquially as the Black Ball Line, the PSNC achieved a "virtual monopoly" on cross-sound traffic in the 1930s and competed with the Canadian Pacific Railway's steamships on several routes. The Pacific Wharf Company was a corporation which once controlled much of the waterfront of Port Townsend, Washington. Organization Pacific Wharf Company was formed in 1891 by Charles E. Peabody (1857-1926), Walter Oakes, George T. Roberts, and others. The company was formally incorporated on August 8, 1891. According to the articles of incorporation, the company's capital was $59,000. The major stockholders included Charles E. Peabody (200 shares), D.B. Jackson, and Walter Oakes (118 shares each). Neah Bay, Washington
Neah Bay is a census-designated place (CDP) on the Makah Reservation in Clallam County, Washington, United States. The population was 865 at the 2010 census. It is across the Canada–US border from British Columbia. Originally called "Scarborough Harbour" in honor of Captain James Scarborough of the Hudson's Bay Company, it was changed to Neah in 1847 by Captain Henry Kellett. Kellett spelled it "Neeah Bay".
