Bjarke Bundgaard Ingels (; born 2 October 1974) is a Danish architect, founder and creative partner of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). In Denmark, Ingels became well known after designing two housing complexes in Ørestad: VM Houses and Mountain Dwellings. In 2006 he founded Bjarke Ingels Group, which grew to a staff of 400 by 2015, with noted projects including the 8 House housing complex, VIA 57 West in Manhattan, the Google North Bayshore headquarters (co-designed with Thomas Heatherwick), the Superkilen park, and the Amager Resource Center (ARC) waste-to-energy plant – the latter which incorporates both a ski slope and climbing wall on the building exterior. Since 2009, Ingels has won numerous architectural competitions. Bjarke Ingels Group, often referred to as BIG, is a Copenhagen and New York based group of architects, designers and builders operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, research and development. The office is currently involved in a large number of projects throughout Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. As of 2021, the company employs 600 people. History Bjarke Ingels and Julien De Smedt established the company PLOT in Copenhagen in January 2001, as a focus for their architectural practice. Bjarke Mogensen
Bjarke Pauli Mogensen (born 27 December 1985 in Ronne) is a Danish accordionist. He began learning the accordion at age 7. At age 13, Mogensen made his debut as a soloist in a German TV broadcast with the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Mogensen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where his teachers included Geir Draugsvoll. In 2008, he received a grant of 300,000 DKr from the ''Statens Kunstråds Musikudvalg'' (Danish Arts Council Music Committee) in support of his career. In addition to his solo career, Mogensen has served on the music faculty at the Royal Danish Academy of Music since 2010. In 2011, Mogensen had his solo debut at Carnegie Hall, New York. Several composers have written new works for Mogensen, including Anders Koppel (''Concerto Piccolo''), Martin Lohse (''In Liquid''), and Niklas Schmidt (Concertino for accordion and brass).
