Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth
Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth (formerly Bishopsgarth School) is a comprehensive secondary school with academy status in the Bishopsgarth area of Stockton on Tees, England. It has a mixed intake of both boys and girls, ages 11–16, and had 537 pupils on roll in January 2017. The school is operated by Outwood Grange Academies Trust, and the current principal is Sheriden Hutchinson-Jones. Ralph Pickles is the current chair of governors. History ''Bishopsgarth School'' was a community school operated by the local education authority. Following an inspection in January 2016, Ofsted rated Bishopsgarth School as "requires improvement" in all areas. In June, the school began working with support from Outwood Grange Academies Trust to tackle low-level disruptive behaviour. Stockton-on-Tees, often simply referred to as Stockton, is a market town in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, England. It is on the northern banks of the River Tees, part of the Teesside built-up area. The town had an estimated population of 84,318 in 2011. It is included in the Tees Valley mayoralty. Fairfield is a west Stockton area in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. It was originally the site of a field which hosted a fair, hence its name. It is home to several schools and a small library. South of the area, near Hartburn, is older than the northern part of the area, near Bishopsgarth. Geography A green belt divides the suburb from neighbouring Hartburn to the south, while at its western end, Fairfield ends abruptly at the edge of the town. Bishop Auckland
Bishop Auckland () is a market town and civil parish at the confluence of the River Wear and the River Gaunless in County Durham, northern England. It is northwest of Darlington and southwest of Durham. Much of the town's early history surrounds the Bishops of Durham and the establishment of Auckland Castle's predecessor, a hunting lodge, which became the main residence of Durham Bishops. This is reflected in the first part of the town's name. During the Industrial Revolution, the town grew rapidly as coal mining took hold as an important industry. The Diocese of Durham is a Church of England diocese, based in Durham, and covering the historic county of Durham (and therefore including the part of Tyne and Wear south of the River Tyne, and excluding southern Teesdale). It was created in AD 635 as the Diocese of Lindisfarne.
