Bishan Railway Station
Bishan railway station is a railway station of Chengdu–Chongqing intercity railway located in Qinggang Subdistrict, Bishan District, Chongqing, China. Construction began on 29 December 2013. It was opened on 26 December 2015 which brought an end to the time when Bishan District had no rail transport system or a comprehensive transfer hub. The transport hub covers an area of 150 acres and cost approximately 530 million yuan. It functions as a transfer hub for long-distance coaches, buses, taxis and private vehicles. Bishan () is one of the District (People's Republic of China), districts of Chongqing, China, with a history of over 2000 years. Bishan is west of Chenjiaping in downtown Chongqing. Formerly a county, it became a district on 6 June 2014. Chengdu–Chongqing Intercity Railway
The Chengdu–Chongqing intercity railway () is a long high-speed railway that connects the cities of Chengdu (Sichuan) and Chongqing in southwestern China, with a maximum speed of . The route passes through most of the same cities that the older Chengdu–Chongqing Railway does, but is significantly shorter due to the greater use of elevated sections and tunnels. The line includes four major elevated sections and two tunnels. History Construction on the Chongqing section began on 22 March 2010 while work on the Sichuan section began on 11 November. The final tunnel achieved breakthrough on 16 December 2013 and a single track line was expected to open in first half of 2014.
