Biscay Autonomous Football Team
The Biscay autonomous football team was the regional football team for the province of Biscay, Spain, active between the 1910s and the 1930s. They were never affiliated with FIFA or UEFA, because Biscay is represented internationally by the Spain national football team. History In the first half of the 20th century, the provincial federation selected a representative team for friendly matches, and also took part in two editions of the inter-regional Prince of Asturias Cup, the first of which in 1922-23 ending in a quarter-final exit at the hands of Asturias after a dramatic 4–3 loss in the replay (the original game ended 1-1), but they managed to exact revenge in the following tournament when they faced Asturias in the quarter-finals again, this time winning 4–2 with goals from Carmelo, Laca and Travieso, but in the semi-finals, they were knocked-out by eventual champions Catalonia 0–1. Basque Football Federation
The Basque Football Federation ( eu, Euskadiko Futbol Federakundea, EFF; es, Federación Vasca de Fútbol, link=no, FVF) is the body responsible for managing association football in the Basque Country autonomous region. Its offices are in the Txurdinaga neighbourhood of Bilbao. The federation manages several leagues such as the Basque Youth League and the Basque Women's Football League, as well as the Basque regional stage of the Federation Cup. It also organises Group 4 of the regionalised Tercera División (the fourth tier of the men's Spanish football league system), although unlike most parts of the country, the leagues at the fifth level and below are administered separately by provincial federations for Álava, Biscay and Gipuzkoa. Atotxa Stadium
Atotxa ( es, Atocha) was a football stadium in San Sebastián, Spain. It was the home ground of Real Sociedad until 1993 when it was replaced by Anoeta Stadium. It had superseded Ondarreta Stadium 80 years earlier. It had a capacity of 17,000 spectators. History The Municipal Stadium of Atocha was the second stadium that Real Sociedad had in their history, preceded by Ondarreta, located in the neighborhood of the old town of San Sebastián. Later the team moved to the Eguia neighborhood. The stadium of Atocha was constructed in the grounds of an old velodrome, built in 1888. It was inaugurated on 5 October 1913 with a match between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club Bilbao, which finalized with a 3–3 result. Patricio Arabolaza
Patricio Arabolaza Aranburu (17 March 1893 – 12 March 1935) was a Spanish football player who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. He is best known for scoring the first goal in the history of the Spain national team. Club career Born in Irun, Gipuzkoa, Patricio began playing football with hometown club Racing de Irún in 1909, helping the club win the 1913 Copa del Rey Final by scoring a goal in a 2-2 draw against Athletic Bilbao, eventually winning the replay 1-0 in the following day. In 1915, Racing de Irún merged with Sporting de Irún to form Real Unión Club de Irún and along with other Racing players, Patricio joined this newly-created club that would become one of the dominant teams in Basque and Spain during the following decade, with Patricio being the star of the team during the first half of that decade. Francisco Pagazaurtundúa
Francisco Pagazaurtundua González-Murrieta (22 October 1894 – 18 November 1958), better known as Pagaza, was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward. He was a member of the Spanish team that won the silver medal in the 1920 Summer Olympics as well as a Copa del Rey winner with Arenas Club de Getxo. Club career Born in Santurtzi to an architect and a piano teacher, Pagaza began playing football at Colegio Orduña and during his time as a student in England. He began his career with Arenas Club in 1912, where he stood as a phenomenal winger, so he was signed by Athletic Club de Madrid in 1916. After two years he returned to Arenas in 1918, where he played a pivotal role in helping the club win the Biscay Championship and the Copa del Rey in 1919, starting in the final as Arenas defeated the powerful FC Barcelona 5-2. Pedro Barturen Urigüen (1895 – Unknown), was a Spanish artist and footballer who played as a midfielder for Arenas Club. Club career Barturen played with Arenas Club for 7 years, playing a pivotal role in helping Arenas reach the Copa del Rey final on two occasions ( 1917 and 1919), losing the former to Madrid FC, but winning the latter after a 5–2 win over the powerful FC Barcelona. He also won three North Championships in 1916–17, 1918–19 and 1921–22.
