Birgit Friggebo
Birgit Irma Gunborg Friggebo (born 25 December 1941) is a Swedish politician and member of the Liberal People's Party. Born in Falköping, she married economics professor Bo Södersten in 1997. Friggebo was Minister for Planning in the Ministry of Housing between 1976 and 1978 and Minister for Housing between 1978 and 1982. Between 1991 and 1994 she was Minister for Culture (including immigration issues). She was a member of the Swedish Parliament between 1979 and 1982 and yet again between 1985 and 1997. From 1998 to 2004, she was the governor for the County of Jönköping. Legacy As Minister for Housing, she removed the need for a planning approval to build small sheds under 15 square meters of area. Such sheds are now popularly known as "friggebod", a pun on her surname, ''bod'' meaning ''shed''. Liberal People's Party (Sweden)
The Liberals ( sv, Liberalerna, L), known as the Liberal People's Party ( sv, Folkpartiet liberalerna) until 22 November 2015, is a conservative liberal political party in Sweden. The Liberals ideologically have shown a broad variety of liberal tendencies. Currently they are seen as following classical liberalism and economic liberalism. The party is a member of the Liberal International and Renew Europe. Historically the party was positioned in the centre of the Swedish political landscape, willing to cooperate with both the political left and the right. Bengt Göransson
Bengt Göransson (1932–2021) was a Swedish educator and social democrat politician who held different cabinet posts, including minister of culture and minister of education. He also served in the Parliament for two terms between 1985 and 1991. Biography Göransson was born in Södermalm in 1932. In his youth he was a member of the Swedish Social Democratic Youth League. Later he joined the Social Democratic Party. Göransson worked at the Workers' Educational Association and the People’s House. He served as minister of culture from 1982 to 1991. During his term the Gothenburg Film Festival was launched. He was also the minister of education for two terms. Lars Engqvist
Lars Engqvist (born 13 August 1945) is a Swedish politician. He served as chairman of the youth organization of the Swedish Social Democrats from 1972 to 1978, and then worked as a journalist. He was the editor-in-chief of '' Arbetet'', a Malmö-based newspaper. In the early 1990s he was the mayor of Malmö, and then president of the Swedish Film Institute before receiving his first government appointment in 1998. On 1 June 2004 he was appointed as deputy Prime Minister of the Swedish government. The main reason for the appointment was to make him the acting prime minister under Göran Persson, when the latter received knee surgery in early June. Bengt Carl Gustaf Westerberg (born 23 August 1943) is a Swedish politician. He was leader of the Liberal People's Party (Sweden), Liberal People's Party from 1983 to 1995, member of the Parliament of Sweden, Riksdag from 1984 to 1994 and Minister for Health and Social Affairs (Sweden), Minister for Social Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, Deputy Prime Minister 1991 to 1994. Leif Blomberg (15 February 1941–2 March 1998) was a politician and the head of Swedish Metal Workers' Confederation. He was a member of the Social Democratic Party. He held several government posts. Biography Blomberg was born in Enköping on 15 February 1941. He was the chairman of the Swedish Metal Workers' Confederation in the period 1982–1993. Shortly after his appointment as the chairman of the confederation it abandoned the main agreements of the Swedish Trade Union allies in 1983.
