Biplab Chatterjee
Biplab Chatterjee is an Indian actor and director of television and films. Career Biplab started his film career with Satyajit Ray in his film ''Pratidwandi''. He is popular for his antagonistic character in Bengali films. Apart from his career in films, he has also shown interest in socio-political activities. In 1998, he was a candidate for assembly election from Rashbehari constituency and in 2006 from Alipore constituency. ''Tenida'' is a Bengali comedy adventure film directed by Chinmoy Roy and produced by Tower Solar System loosely based on a Tenida novel ''Charmurtir Abhijan'' by Narayan Gangopadhyay. This film was released in 2011. Director Roy himself played the part of Tenida in Charmurti in 1978. ''Magno Mainak'' is a 2009 crime thriller based on the novel of same name by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. It was directed by Swapan Ghosal and produced by New Wave Communications. This is the third Byomkesh Bakshi film adaptation. Subhrajit Dutta played Byomkesh while Rajarshi Mukherjee played Ajit Kumar Banerjee. Piyali Munshi, Rupanjana Mitra, Gargi Roychowdhury and Biplab Chatterjee acted in other roles. Production Director Swapan Ghoshal made two Byomkesh Bakshi TV series before this film. ''Byomkesh Bakshi'' in 2004 aired on DD Bangla. Another is a short-lived series ''Byomkesh'' in 2007, which aired on Tara Muzik.
