Amanda Billing (born 12 April 1976 in New Zealand) is a New Zealand actress best known for her role as Sarah Potts (Shortland Street), Doctor Sarah Potts on New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street''. Biography Billing grew up in Masterton, and spent her university years in Christchurch. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with 1st Class Honours in Geography from the University of Canterbury, she trained at the Christchurch College of Education and became a high school teacher. Billing was involved in drama throughout her teaching years and has acted in a few amateur stage productions including ''Cloud Nine'' and ''The Country Wife''. Sir Thomas Billing (died 1481) was an English judge and Chief Justice of the King's Bench. Early life and career Billing is said by Fuller to have been a native of Northamptonshire, where two villages near Northampton bear his name, and to have afterwards lived in state at Astwell in that county. Lord Campbell says he was an attorney's clerk; but this seems doubtful. He was, at any rate, a member of Gray's Inn. Writing to one Ledam, Billing says : 'I would ye should do well, because ye are a fellow of Gray's Inn, where I was fellow ' (Paston Letters, i. 43, 53), and, according to a Gray's Inn manuscript, he was a reader there. Roy Harwood Billing (born 1947) is a New Zealand television actor, now based on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. He was brought up in Ruawai, Northland, New Zealand. Billing spent almost three decades living and working in Australia. He became widely known for his role as organised-crime boss “Aussie Bob” Trimbole in the TV series Underbelly. Robert Claudius Billing (15 April 183421 February 1898) was an Anglican bishop who served as Bishop of Bedford (a suffragan bishop to the Bishop of London) from 1888 to 1898. Peter Graham Billing (born 24 October 1964) is an English former footballer who played in central defence. He made 281 league and cup appearances in an eleven-year career in the Football League. A former South Liverpool player, he turned professional with Everton in January 1986. He featured in the Super Cup final, but he was sold on to Crewe Alexandra for £12,000 in December 1986. He helped the "Railwaymen" to win promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1988–89, before he was sold on to Coventry City for £120,000 in June 1989. Norman Alexander William Billing (15 January 1913 – 1 November 1989) was an Australian politician. He was born at Port Melbourne to plumber Henry Ernest Billing and Nellie Marquis. He attended state schools at Springvale and Dandenong, and entered the public service in 1928. During World War II he was a sergeant in the Field Ambulance; he was also a cricketer, playing for Prahran and Richmond from 1931 to 1947. From 1953 to 1976 he managed Springvale Community Hospital, and he was also closely involved with St John Ambulance. Noel Pemberton Billing (31 January 1881 – 11 November 1948), sometimes known as Noel Pemberton-Billing, was a British aviator, inventor, publisher and Member of Parliament for Hertford. McGregor Edward Billing (12 January 1887 – 3 November 1965) was a South African cricketer who played first-class cricket from 1920 to 1926. A fast bowler, McGregor Billing made his first-class debut in 1920–21 at the age of 33. In the final match of that Currie Cup season, when Natal needed to beat Western Province to win the title, Billing took 6 for 42 (five bowled) to dismiss Western Province in their second innings for 134 and leave a target of 227 for Natal to win, but they were dismissed for 199. In 1921-22 the same teams again met in the final match of the Currie Cup; this time Billing took 2 for 52 and 5 for 37 to help Natal to victory and a shared title with Western Province and Transvaal.
