Bill Steenson
William R. Steenson (June 29, 1935 – June 14, 2011) was a Canadian ice hockey defenseman who Captain (ice hockey), captained North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey, North Dakota to the program's first List of NCAA Division I men's ice hockey champions, National Championship in 1959 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, 1959. Career After finishing his junior career with the Moose Jaw Canucks, Steenson accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of North Dakota in 1955. After a year with the freshman team Steenson joined the varsity squad and provided a boost to the defense. North Dakota allowed 30 fewer goals against than the year before and went from 11 wins to 18, finishing 3rd in the conference. Moose Jaw
Moose Jaw is the fourth largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. Lying on the Moose Jaw River in the south-central part of the province, it is situated on the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Regina. Brain Tumor
A brain tumor occurs when abnormal cells form within the brain. There are two main types of tumors: malignant tumors and benign (non-cancerous) tumors. Milwaukee Admirals
The Milwaukee Admirals are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). They play in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Panther Arena. They are affiliated with the NHL's Nashville Predators. The team has been playing since 1970, originally as an amateur team called the Milwaukee Wings, but were renamed as the Admirals after their first season. They played an independent schedule until joining the semiprofessional United States Hockey League (USHL) in 1973. International Hockey League (1945–2001)
The International Hockey League (IHL) was a minor professional ice hockey league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1945 to 2001. The IHL served as the National Hockey League's alternate farm system to the American Hockey League (AHL). After 56 years of operation, financial instability led to the league's demise. Denver Mavericks
The Denver Mavericks were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the International Hockey League (1945–2001), International Hockey League during the first half of the 1959–1960 season. They played at the Denver Coliseum in Denver, Colorado. The Mavericks were an expansion team and recruited most of its players at colleges in Colorado. The IHL pulled the franchise from the original owners, Mile High Hockey Inc., and gave it to a Denver group headed by David M. Segal. Michigan State Spartans Men's Ice Hockey
The Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents Michigan State University (MSU). The team plays at the Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Michigan, on the MSU campus. The current head coach is Adam Nightingale, who took over coaching duties on May 3, 2022, after Danton Cole was fired. Michigan State currently competes in the Big Ten Conference. The MSU ice hockey program has seven CCHA regular season championships and 11 CCHA Tournament titles. MSU has also won 12 Great Lakes Invitational titles.
