Bill Landers
William John Landers (26 April 1901 – 22 December 1958) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played at club level with Rock Street and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. He usually lined out as a forward. Career Landers enjoyed a successful Gaelic football career and was part of two All-Ireland-winning teams. He was also on the losing side in the 1923 All-Ireland final. Landers's inter-county career was interrupted as a result of his emigration to the United States in 1925. He returned in 1932 and immediately regained his place on the Kerry team, while he also won a County Championship title with Rock Street. Landers captained the Kerry team that toured North America in 1933 and played his last game for the team in an All-Ireland semi-final defeat by Cavan that same year. Austin Stacks
Austin Stacks is a hurling and Gaelic football club based in Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. Founded in 1917, the club has more All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals and GAA All-Stars than any other Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Ireland. History Origins Founded in 1917, the club is named after Austin Stack, Irish revolutionary and captain of the All-Ireland winning Kerry Gaelic football team of 1904. They are the only club in Kerry to have won Senior County Championships in both hurling and football, including doubles in 1928 and 1931. John Joe Landers
John Joseph Landers (23 April 1907 – 27 August 2001) was an Irish Gaelic footballer, Gaelic games administrator and republican activist. His league and championship career at senior level for the Kerry county team spanned twelve years from 1927 to 1938. Landers has been described as "one of erry' greatest football legends". Raised in Tralee, County Kerry, Landers was one of six children born to the former Catherine Roche and Garrett Landers. He was educated locally and first played competitive hurling and Gaelic football with the combined Tralee district team with whom he won a combined total of five county senior championship medals in both codes between 1925 and 1927. With the newly created Rock Street club he won a further three county hurling championship medals, while with the Austin Stacks club Landers won five more county football championship medals. Munster Senior Football Championship
The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, bar one, since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Saturday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Munster Cup.
