Austin Stacks
Austin Stacks is a hurling and Gaelic football club based in Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. Founded in 1917, the club has more All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals and GAA All-Stars than any other Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Ireland. History Origins Founded in 1917, the club is named after Austin Stack, Irish revolutionary and captain of the All-Ireland winning Kerry Gaelic football team of 1904. They are the only club in Kerry to have won Senior County Championships in both hurling and football, including doubles in 1928 and 1931. Kerry Senior Football Championship
The Kerry Senior Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Garvey’s SuperValu Senior Football Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1889 for the top Gaelic football teams in the county of Kerry in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months, with the county final currently being played in either Austin Stack Park or FitzGerald Stadium in October. Initially played as a knock-out competition, the championship currently uses a double elimination format whereby each team is guaranteed at least two games. The Kerry County Championship is an integral part of the wider Munster Senior Club Football Championship. The winners of the Kerry county final join the champion clubs of the other five counties to contest the provincial championship. 2022 Kerry Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Kerry Senior Football Championship was the 121st edition of Kerry GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior teams in County Kerry, Ireland. The tournament consists of 16 teams (8 club teams and 8 divisional teams), with the winners representing Kerry in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship if they are a club team. If the winners are a divisional team the winners of the Kerry Club Football Championship represent the county. Miko Doyle
Miko Doyle (8 April 1911 – 29 September 1980) was an Irish people, Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football and hurling with his local club Austin Stacks and was Kerry GAA, Kerry senior inter-county team member from 1929 until 1939. He won five All Ireland medals with Kerry GAA, Kerry during his playing days, four of them by age 21. He was captain of the 1937 winning team. He also won three National Football League titles. At the time Austin Stacks were one of the main teams in Kerry GAA, Kerry in both football and hurling and Doyle won County Championships with both, five in football and four in hurling. He was captain of the 1936 winning football team. Kerry County Club Championship
The Kerry Club Football Championship is a Gaelic football championship played between senior clubs in Kerry, south-west Ireland. In the event of the Kerry Senior Football Championship being won by a divisional team, the winner of this competition represents Kerry in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship (as divisional teams cannot play in the provincial competition). The competition was not played in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Format Group stage The 8 clubs are divided into two groups of four. Over the course of the group stage, each team plays once against the others in the group, resulting in each team being guaranteed three group games. All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship
The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. The current champions are Kilcoo of Down who defeated Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin on 12 February 2022 to win their first title. The current trophy is the Andy Merrigan Cup, named after a footballer who played for Castletown Liam Mellows and Wexford who died as a result of a farm accident at the height of his playing career. The Munster Senior Club Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition for the champion clubs of each county. It has been organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1964. The series of games are played during the autumn and winter months with the final usually being played in late November. The prize for the winning team is the O'Connor Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. 2014 Kerry Senior Football Championship
The 2014 Kerry Senior Football Championship was the 114th staging of the Kerry Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Kerry County Board in 1889. The championship ran from 24 May to 2 November 2014. Dr. Crokes entered the championship as the defending champions in search of a record-equalling fifth successive title, however, they were beaten by Killarney Legion in round 3. The final was played on 2 November 2014 at FitzGerald Stadium in Killarney, between Austin Stacks and Mid Kerry in what was their second ever meeting in the final. Austin Stacks won the match by 2-13 to 1-07 to claim their 12th championship title overall and a first title in 20 years. Mid Kerry's Gavin O'Grady was the championship's top scorer with 5-28. Joe O'Connor (Gaelic Footballer)
Joe O'Connor is a Gaelic footballer. He plays for the Austin Stacks club in midfield and at senior level for the Kerry county team. Pa Laide
Pa Laide (born 1971/1972) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Austin Stacks club and at senior level for the Kerry county team in the late 1980s till the late 1990s. Personal life Laide is from Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. He has served as CEO of Cara Credit Union, a role he had as of 2017. He previously worked with Allied Irish Banks. His father Mick played with Galway in the 1959 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final loss to his native Kerry. Club Laide lined out at club level with the Austin Stacks club in Tralee. His biggest success was a Kerry Senior Football Championship in 1994. He again lined out in a Kerry Senior Football Championship final but was on the losing side in 2001.
