Austin Stacks
Austin Stacks is a hurling and Gaelic football club based in Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. Founded in 1917, the club has more All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals and GAA All-Stars than any other Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Ireland. History Origins Founded in 1917, the club is named after Austin Stack, Irish revolutionary and captain of the All-Ireland winning Kerry Gaelic football team of 1904. They are the only club in Kerry to have won Senior County Championships in both hurling and football, including doubles in 1928 and 1931. Gaelic football The club won the 1976–77 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. 2022 Kerry Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Kerry Senior Football Championship was the 121st edition of Kerry GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior teams in County Kerry, Ireland. The tournament consists of 16 teams (8 club teams and 8 divisional teams), with the winners representing Kerry in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship if they are a club team. If the winners are a divisional team the winners of the Kerry Club Football Championship represent the county. Format structure change Eight club teams and eight divisional teams (16 in total) will take part in the 2022 S.F.C. The 16 teams are divided into four mini-leagues of four teams. The Kerry Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by mid-tier Kerry GAA clubs. Austin Stacks GAA, Austin Stacks are the title holders, having defeated Laune Rangers GAA, Laune Rangers 1–14 to 0–05 in the 2024 Kerry Intermediate Football Championship#Final, 2024 final replay. History The competition was revived in 1959, and District Boards had the right to enter teams. Kerry County Club Championship
The Kerry Club Football Championship is a Gaelic football championship played between senior clubs in County Kerry, in the south-west of Ireland. In the event of the Kerry Senior Football Championship being won by a divisional team, the winner of this competition represents Kerry in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship (as divisional teams cannot play in the provincial competition). The competition was not played in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Format As the Championship has increased to 9 teams from 8 a new format will be used for 2025. The 9 teams were drawn into three groups of three teams with each team playing the other two teams, one at home and one away. The two group winners with the best records will advance to the semi-finals while the other group winner and all three runners-up will advance to the quarter-finals. Munster Senior Club Football Championship
The Munster Senior Club Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition for the champion clubs of each county. It has been organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1964. The series of games are played during the autumn and winter months with the final usually being played in late November. The prize for the winning team is the O'Connor Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. The Munster Championship is an integral part of the wider All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. 2014 Kerry Senior Football Championship
The 2014 Kerry Senior Football Championship was the 114th staging of the Kerry Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Kerry County Board in 1889. The championship ran from 24 May to 2 November 2014. Dr. Crokes entered the championship as the defending champions in search of a record-equalling fifth successive title, however, they were beaten by Killarney Legion in round 3. The final was played on 2 November 2014 at FitzGerald Stadium in Killarney, between Austin Stacks and Mid Kerry in what was their second ever meeting in the final. Austin Stacks won the match by 2-13 to 1-07 to claim their 12th championship title overall and a first title in 20 years. Mid Kerry's Gavin O'Grady was the championship's top scorer with 5-28. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. Pa Laide (born 1971/1972) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Austin Stacks club and at senior level for the Kerry county team in the late 1980s till the late 1990s. Personal life Laide is from Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. He has served as CEO of Cara Credit Union, a role he had as of 2017. He previously worked with Allied Irish Banks. His father Mick played with Galway in the 1959 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final loss to his native Kerry. Club Laide lined out at club level with the Austin Stacks club in Tralee.
