Bilbster Railway Station
Bilbster was a railway station located in the village of Bilbster, in the Highlands region of Scotland. The station opened on 28 July 1874. The station buildings were destroyed by fire on 16 September 1877. It was one of a number of smaller stations on the Far North Line which were closed in 1960. Bilbster
Bilbster is a rural area in the Scottish Highland, Highlands region of Scotland. It is situated on the A882 road and consists of just a handful of houses spread over approximately . The nearest village is Watten, Highland, Watten which is approximately to the north-west and the nearest town is Wick, Highland, Wick which is to the south-east. Bilbster is a farming area. The River Wick, which is a productive salmon river, flows to the north of the settlement. A nearby wind farm was opened in 2008, consisting of three wind turbines that together are capable of generating 3.9 megawatts of electricity. Bilbster railway station was closed in 1960. References

Sutherland And Caithness Railway
The Sutherland and Caithness Railway was a Scottish railway company that built a line from Helmsdale, the terminus of the Duke of Sutherland's Railway to Wick and Thurso in Caithness, giving the northern towns access to Inverness. It was driven through by the efforts of the 3rd Duke of Sutherland and the engineer Joseph Mitchell in the face of apathy from interests in Wick. Its roundabout route was forced by the difficult topography north of Helmsdale. It opened in 1874 and continues in use at the present day as the northern part of the Far North Line. Highland Railway
The Highland Railway (HR) was one of the smaller United Kingdom, British railways before the Railways Act 1921, operating north of Perth railway station, Scotland, Perth railway station in Scotland and serving the farthest north of Britain. Far North Line
The Far North Line is a rural railway line entirely within the Highland area of Scotland, extending from Inverness to Thurso and Wick. As the name suggests, it is the northernmost railway in the United Kingdom. The line is entirely single-track, with only passing loops at some intermediate stations allowing trains to pass each other. In common with other railway lines in the Highlands and northern Lowlands, it is not electrified and all trains are diesel-powered.
