Bilal Khan (actor)
Bilal Khan ( ur, ) (August 15, 1978 – August 14, 2010) was a Pakistani television actor and model, known for some of his lead roles in major Pakistani drama serials. Khan previously acted in Pakistani movies and the ATV serials such as Dehli kay Bankay and ''Pal Bhar Mein''. He came to prominence after starring in the 2002 Lollywood release ''Pehla Sajda''. On August 11, 2010, Khan was critically injured during an accidental gas explosion while on set in Islamabad Islamabad (; ur, , ) is the capital city of Pakistan. Sammi (2017 TV Series)
''Sammi''(in Punjabi سمی ) is a Pakistani television drama serial about social causes that airs on Hum TV from 28 January 2017. It is written by Noor ul Huda Shah and directed by Saife Hassan. Set in rural Rahim Yar Khan, the series centers social issues on the rural society revolving around the concept of '' Vanni'' and shows moral lessons against common issues such as gender discrimination. Depicting the Vanni concept, storyline revolves around the journey of Sammi, a young girl who was sold off by her family to the Chaudhry family where her brother had killed her fiancé. Simultaneously it revolves around reality based issues with different characters within the same plot. It was nominated for Best Drama Serial at the 6th Hum Awards. Lollywood ( ur, , translit=lâli vuḍ) refers to Pakistan's film industry based in Lahore, previously the base for both Punjabi and Urdu language film production. ''Dastaan'' ( ur, , lit=The tale) is a Pakistani TV series based on the novel '' Bano'', by Razia Butt. Broadcast on Hum TV in 2010, it was dramatized by Samira Fazal. Based on the partition of the Indian Subcontinent and the resulting independence of Pakistan, the story takes place takes place between 1947 and 1956. The drama depicts the story of Bano, a girl from a close knit Muslim family living in Ludhiana (located in undivided Punjab) in the pre-1947 era. The story is about the trials and tribulations Bano faces after she decides to dedicate her life to the All-India Muslim League. ''Dastaan'' is the first project of its kind taken up by the Pakistani media.
