Big Brother (Australian Season 10)
''Big Brother Australia 2013'', also known as ''Big Brother 10'', is the tenth season of the Australian reality television series, '' Big Brother''. It began on 28 July 2013, with a pre-recorded launch show airing on 29 July 2013 on the Nine Network. On 6 November 2013, after 101 days of competition, Tim Dormer won the competition and the $250,000 prize. It is the second season of the show to air on the network after it picked up the series in 2012, following a four-year absence. Sonia Kruger continued to host the show, with Mike Goldman continuing as narrator. This season ran during the 2013 Australian Federal Election. As Australia has compulsory voting for elections, the housemates (except Jade, as she was not on the electoral roll) had to vote for this election while in the house. Sonia Kruger
Sonia Melissa Kruger (born 28 August 1965) is an Australian television presenter and media personality, who has been a prominent figure in the media for over 20 years. Kruger is currently the host of '' Big Brother Australia'' and a presenter on ''The Voice Australia''. She is best known for co-hosting the popular Australian version of '' Dancing with the Stars'' and for the role of Tina Sparkle in the dark 1992 film '' Strictly Ballroom''. Kruger has also been a co-host of ''Today Extra''. During her time at the Seven Network, Kruger has also reported for numerous other events, including the network's coverage of the Olympics, the Melbourne Cup and the Australian Open. ''The X Factor'' is an Australian television reality music competition, based on the original UK series, to find new singing talent. The first season of the show premiered on Network Ten on 6 February 2005. Ten dropped ''The X Factor'' after the first season due to its poor ratings. In 2010, the Seven Network won the rights to the show, and a second season went into production. ''The X Factor'' was renewed after the highly successful ''Australian Idol'' was no longer broadcast on Network Ten. ''The X Factor'' was produced by FremantleMedia Australia, and was broadcast on the Seven Network in Australia and on TV3 in New Zealand. The program was cancelled after its eighth season in 2016. The original judging panel line-up in 2005 consisted of Mark Holden, Kate Ceberano, and John Reid.
