Biellmann Spin
The Biellmann spin is a difficult variation of the layback spin in figure skating. It was made popular by world champion Denise Biellmann. Description The Biellmann spin is a difficult variation of the layback spin in figure skating. It is executed by the skater grabbing their free blade and pulling the heel of their boot behind and above the level of the head so that their legs are in an approximate full split, with the head and back arched upward. The spin "requires much strength and extreme flexibility". The Biellmann increases the complexity of a skater's short or free program only if they execute eight revolutions, in either a backward and/or sideway position without any changes, before attempting the Biellmann and if they clearly increase the speed of the spin. Layback Spin
A layback spin is a variation of the upright spin, a spin in figure skating. is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. She is the 2010 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time World champion (2008, 2010, 2014), a three-time Four Continents champion (2008, 2010, 2013), and a four-time Grand Prix Final champion (2005–06, 2008–09, 2012–13, 2013–14). Eliot Halverson
Eliot Jon Halverson (born November 8, 1990) is an American figure skater. As a men's singles skater, she is the 2007 US Junior National Champion. Personal life Halverson was born in Bogotá, Colombia and was adopted from Colombia at age five months. She lived and trained in Saint Paul, Minnesota from her move to the United States until 2008, when she began training in Ann Arbor. Halverson's parents are divorced and she lives with her mother. She has been homeschooled from a young age. In 2019, Halverson came out as nonbinary and began using she/her pronouns. Career Halverson began skating at age six on a frozen pond behind her house. Zoya Alexeevna Douchine, sometimes written Zoja Duschin, married surname Barkenstein (born 24 October 1983) is a German former competitive figure skater. Rebecca Ann "Becky" Bereswill (born October 2, 1990) is an American figure skater. She is the 2008 Junior Grand Prix Final champion. In 2014, she was cast as Elsa in the Disney on Ice version of Frozen. Personal life Rebecca Ann Bereswill, nicknamed ''Becky'', was born in 1990 in Houston, Texas. Jamal Aziz Othman (born 13 August 1986 in Worb, Canton of Bern) is a Swiss former competitive figure skater. He is the 2009 Swiss national champion and a five-time (2002, 2005–2007, 2010) national silver medalist. Career Othman began skating at age six after previously trying gymnastics and rock and roll dancing. He was the 1999 Swiss Novice Champion and the 2000 and 2001 Swiss Junior Champion. Mira Leung (born March 28, 1989) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2004 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medallist and a three-time Canadian national silver medallist (2006–2008).
