Becky Bereswill
Rebecca Ann "Becky" Bereswill (born October 2, 1990) is an American figure skater. She is the 2008 Junior Grand Prix Final champion. In 2014, she was cast as Elsa in the Disney on Ice version of Frozen. Personal life Rebecca Ann Bereswill, nicknamed ''Becky'', was born in 1990 in Houston, Texas. She is the elder of identical twins; her twin sister, Allison, is also a figure skater and track and field athlete. Bereswill studied ballet with the Houston Ballet from age four to thirteen and appeared in a local production of ''The Nutcracker'' and ''Sleeping Beauty''. She attended pre-school through middle school at The Post Oak School in Bellaire, Texas, and then went next door to high school at the Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. The Biellmann spin is a difficult variation of the layback spin in figure skating. It was made popular by world champion Denise Biellmann. It is executed by the skater grabbing their free blade and pulling the heel of their boot behind and above the level of the head so that their legs are in an approximate full split, with the head and back arched upward. The Post Oak School
The Post Oak School is a private Montessori K-12 school with two campuses in Greater Houston. The preschool through elementary location is the Bissonnet Campus in Bellaire, Texas while the middle-high school is in the Museum District of Houston. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". 2009 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2009 World Junior Figure Skating Championships was an international competition in the 2008–09 season. Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", they are an annual figure skating competition in which elite figure skaters compete for the title of World Junior Champion in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The event was held between February 22 and March 1, 2009, at the Winter Sports Hall in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event had been provisionally scheduled to be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, however, due to financial reasons, the Czech Figure Skating Association could not host. The 2008–09 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 12th season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a series of international junior level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the Junior-level complement to the 2008–09 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, which was for Senior-level skaters. International Challenge Cup
The International Challenge Cup (formerly the Ennia Challenge Cup and the Aegon Cup) is an annual figure skating competition generally held during the last week in February, up till the 2021 edition held in The Hague, Netherlands. Since the 2022 edition a three year contract has been signed with the city of Tilburg to host the event from the IJssportcentrum Tilburg with practice being organised on the neighbouring Ireen Wüst Ice Rink. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, women' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior, junior, novice, and pre-novice levels, such as "Debs".
