Bicester Rugby Club
Bicester Rugby Union Football Club is an English rugby union club situated in Bicester, 10 miles North of Oxford. The club provides rugby for children from the age of 4 (Under 5s, or School Reception Year) up to the Under 18 (Colts), two girls teams, and a senior section which includes the Women's team (Vixens), Bicester Men's 2nd XV, and 1st XV. Bicester 1st XV participates in Southern Counties North following their relegation from South West 1 East at the end of the 2017–18 season. Bicester's U13s+ youth age grades and Seniors currently play at Whitelands Farm Sports Ground, whilst the Minis (up to U12s) are located at the Bicester Sports Association (BSA) Ground on Akeman Street, Chesterton.. Oxfordshire Rugby Football Union
The Oxfordshire Rugby Football Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Oxfordshire in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Oxfordshire, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. It also administers the Oxfordshire county rugby representative teams. History The Oxfordshire RFU was first formed during the 1931–32 season with L.C. Gower being the first ever president. Berks/Bucks & Oxon Premier
Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier is a division at level 8 of the English rugby union system featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Promoted teams usually move up to Southern Counties North while relegated teams used to drop to the Berks/Bucks & Oxon Championship, although this division has been discontinued as of the end of the 2018–19 season. Each year three teams (one each from the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire unions) are picked to take part in the RFU Senior Vase (a level 8 national cup competition). When the league was introduced in 1987 it was known as Bucks/Oxon 1 and was set up originally for teams from Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Jon Goodridge
Jon Goodridge (born 26 February 1981) is a professional rugby union player for Bristol Rugby. He tends to play at Fullback. He possesses an excellent long range kicking game and being left footed he gives the team plenty of options. Goodridge, who is also comfortable as a winger, spent six years with Gloucester before a three-year spell at his hometown club, Leeds. Goodridge made his debut for Gloucester in 2001, scoring 7 tries in 54 appearances. He then moved to Leeds where he played a key role during the clubs National One promotion season, scoring four tries in a memorable performance during Leeds' victory over Moseley. Haydn Morgan
Haydn Morgan (30 July 1936 – 20 July 2018) was a Welsh international flanker who played club rugby for Abertillery and Bicester Rugby Union Football Club. He was awarded twenty-seven caps for Wales and toured with Ronnie Dawson's 1959 and Arthur Smith's 1962 British Lions squads. Although a reliable and dynamic player with a heavy, but clean tackle, Morgan suffered at the hands of the selectors often dropped for players who never showed any international longevity.Thomas (1979), pg 142. Morgan first played with Abertillery at the age of 18 at centre, but when called up for National Service he switched to wing-forward while playing for the army. James Forrester (rugby Union)
James Forrester (born 9 February 1981 in Oxford) is a former English rugby union player who played at number eight for Gloucester Rugby. Forrester is a tall, agile, talented number eight with excellent ball handling skills and an eye for the try line, as his impressive try tally for Gloucester Rugby demonstrates. Andrew Charles Thomas Gomarsall MBE (born 24 July 1974, in Durham) is a former rugby union player who played at scrum-half for Leeds Carnegie and England. He previously played for Gloucester Rugby, Bedford and Wasps. Until May 2006 he was contracted to Worcester Warriors for three seasons from 2005, but was released after one year of a three-year contract – an action which is still subject to potential legal action by Gomarsall. Berks, Bucks and Oxon Division 1 is an English rugby union league featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. As with all of the divisions in this area at this level, the entire league is made up of second and third teams of clubs whose first teams play at a higher level of the rugby union pyramid. As this is the top league in the region for second teams there is no promotion to a higher league. Relegated teams drop to Berks/Bucks & Oxon 2. Oxfordshire RFU County Cup
The Oxfordshire RFU County Cup is an annual rugby union knock-out club competition organised by the Oxfordshire Rugby Football Union. It was first introduced during the 1970–71 season, with the inaugural winners being Oxford. It is the most important rugby union cup competition in Oxfordshire, ahead of the Oxfordshire RFU County Shield. The County Cup is open to club sides based in Oxfordshire playing in tier 6 (South West 1 East) and tier 7 (Southern Counties North) of the English rugby union system, 2nd teams of higher ranked clubs in the county (tiers 3–4), as well as invitee sides from outside of the league structure (e.g. university representative sides).
