Biathlon At The 1998 Winter Olympics
Biathlon at the 1998 Winter Olympics consisted of six biathlon events. They were held at Nozawa Onsen. The events began on 9 February and ended on 21 February 1998. Medal summary Eight nations won medals in biathlon, with Norway leading the medal table, thanks to five medals, 2 gold, the same as Germany. Uschi Disl was the only individual to win three medals, one of each type. Ole Einar Bjørndalen and Halvard Hanevold led the men's table, with one gold and one silver each. Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort
is a skiing venue located in Nozawaonsen, Nagano, Japan. Nozawa Onsen Village is located at the foot of the ski resort, which spans across three main areas. The resort is a large ski area that opened over seventy years ago. Olga Vladimirovna Romasko (russian: Ольга Владимировна Ромасько) (born 18 April 1968 in Borodino, Krasnoyarsk Krai) is a former Russian biathlete. She began with biathlon in 1993. Both in 1996 and 1997, she became world champion in the 7.5 km sprint event. Romasko also won a bronze medal both in the pursuit and on the relay in 1997. Albina Khamitovna Akhatova (russian: Альби́на Хами́товна Аха́това, tt-Cyrl, Альбина Хәмит кызы Әхәтова; born 13 November 1976) is a Russian (of Tatar origin) former biathlon, biathlete. Viktor Viktorovich Maigourov (russian: Виктор Викторвич Майгуров); born 7 February 1969) is a former biathlete from Russia. Career Maigourov competed for Belarus at the Lillehammer 1994, where he placed fourth on the relay with the Belarusian team. He won eight World Cup victories, his last at Oberhof in 2001.
