Bianca Andrew
Bianca Andrew is an operatic mezzo-soprano from New Zealand who has appeared in internationally, based at the Oper Frankfurt. Life and career Andrew was born in Wellington. She attended Marsden School, graduating in 2007. She studied at the New Zealand School of Music with Margaret Medlyn, where she graduated in 2011 with distinction. She became an emerging artist at the New Zealand Opera in 2013. Supported by a grant from the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation in 2014, she studied further at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Yvonne Kenny where she graduated with a master's degree in 2017. She won the Song Prize of the Kathleen Ferrier Awards at Wigmore Hall in 2016. Andrew appeared as Bernardo in Goldschmidt's ''Beatrice Cenci'' at the Bregenzer Festspiele, and as Flamel in Offenbach's '' Fantasio'' at the Garsington Opera. The New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī, at Victoria University of Wellington (NZSM), is located in Wellington, New Zealand. NZSM provides a tertiary teaching faculty with programmes in Classical Performance, Jazz Performance, Music Studies, Composition and Sonic Arts. Brigitte Fassbaender (; born 3 July 1939), is a German mezzo-soprano opera singer and a stage director. From 1999 to 2012 she was intendant (managing director) of the Tyrolean State Theatre in Innsbruck, Austria. She holds the title Kammersängerin from the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Vienna Staatsoper. Career Fassbaender was born in Berlin, the daughter of screen actress Sabine Peters and baritone Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender. The family settled in Nuremberg after World War II. She spent her early career in Munich. Fassbaender studied singing with her father, at the Nuremberg Conservatory. She joined the Bavarian State Opera in 1961, where her first leading role was Nicklausse in ''The Tales of Hoffmann''. Bockenheimer Depot
The Bockenheimer Depot is a former tram depot and main workshop of the Straßenbahn Frankfurt am Main, built around 1900. It is located in the Bockenheim quarter of Frankfurt. A listed monument, it now serves as a theatre venue of the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt, mostly for Baroque and contemporary opera. History Before 1900, a wooden hall existed here for the cars of the horse-drawn trams. Since it was not suitable for the new electric trams, it was demolished in 1900 and replaced by the current building, with an added wooden structure to house the main workshop for the trams (''Hauptwerkstatt''). While Frankfurt was badly damaged by bombing in 1944, the main hall suffered only minor damage. After the war, the hall became too small for growing traffic. Vito Žuraj (born 7 May 1979) is a Slovenian composer whose works are played internationally. Career Born in Maribor, he obtained a degree in composition and music theory with Marko Mihevc at the Ljubljana Academy of Music. He then moved to Dresden to further his education at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber with Lothar Voigtländer, and moved to study with Wolfgang Rihm at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, where he completed a master's degree in computer music, supervised by Thomas A.
