''Bhranti Bilas'' () is a 1963 Bengali-language comedy film based on the 1869 play of the same name by Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, which is itself based on William Shakespeare's ''The Comedy of Errors''. The film starring and produced Uttam Kumar, he played double role. Others starring Bhanu Banerjee who also played duel role, Sabitri Chatterjee and Sandhya Roy. The film made under the banner of Uttam Kumar Films Pvt Ltd. The music of the film composed by Shyamal Mitra. The film was remade in Bollywood thrice as ''Do Dooni Char'' , '' Angoor'' and ''Cirkus''. The classic comedy was made based on Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar's popular novel with a similar name, which itself was inspired by the Shakespearian play 'Comedy Of Errors'. Dhananjay Bhattacharya (September 10, 1922 – December 27, 1992) was an Indian Bengali singer and composer. He was a versatile Shyama Sangeet singer. Career He started his career by singing modern Bengali as well as Hindi songs. His first song was "Jodi bhule jao more/janabo na abhiman..." in 1940, recorded with Pioneer Company. His first playback was in 1943. He was best known for singing Shyama Sangeet. Out of the 24 songs in the movie ''Sadhak Ramprasad'' (1956), Dhananjay sang 23. He was versatile in singing major types and forms of songs including modern Bengali, Hindustani classical music, Rabindra Sangeet, Kirtan, Bhajan, Baul, Ramprasadi (of Ramprasad Sen), Nazrul Geeti, and Shyama Sangeet. Bidhayak Bhattacharya (7 February 1907 – 15 November 1986) was a Bengali novelist, play writer and actor. His birth name was Bagalaranjan. Early life Bhattacharya was born at Ziaganj in Murshidabad district in 1907 in British India. His father's name is Haricharan Bhattacharya.
