Bhati (other)
Bhati () is an ancient warrior clan of Rajputs which claims descent from a common ancestor, Rao Bhatti. The Bhati clan historically ruled over several cities in present-day Pakistan and India, with their final capital and kingdom being Jaisalmer, India. The Punjabi inflection of the word is Bhatti. History The Bhatis of Jaisalmer belonged to the Yadava clan of Rajputs. They reportedly originated in Mathura through a common ancestor named Bhatti, who was a descendant of Pradyumn. According to the seventeenth-century Nainsi ri Khyat, the Bhatis after losing Mathura moved to Bhatner in Lakhi Jungle, and from there to other locations in western and northwestern India including Punjab. The Bhati ruler of Tanot, Rao Tannu-ji, utilized his long reign (until 814 AD) to consolidate the Bhatis' expanding strength in western Rajasthan and the eastern Cholistan desert area. He is credited with defeating and destroying the domains of the Varya Rajputs and Langas of Multan. A ...

Langah Sultanate
The Langah Sultanate, also known as the Sultanate of Multan, was a kingdom which emerged after the decline of Delhi Sultanate in the Punjab region. The capital of the Sultanate was the city of Multan in south Punjab. Origin There are conflicting reports on the origin of the Langah tribe. Abd al-Haqq, in the 16th century, referred to the Langah as a Baloch tribe, however, the tribe is also said to have Rajput origins. History After invasion of Emir Timur in 1398, the Delhi Sultanate became greatly weak and the city of Multan became independent of the Sultanate of Delhi. The inhabitants chose Shaikh Yousaf Qureshi, a descendent of the famous Sufi Baha-ud-din Zakariya, as ruler in 1438. He was a mild and unexperienced ruler. In 1445, Rai Sahra, chief of the Langah attacked the city at night with the help of his tribesmen, arrested Sheikh Yousaf and proclaimed himself Sultan. In this way Multan passed to the Langah clan, thus establishing the Langah Sultanate. The reign of Sulta ...

Sukkur
Sukkur (; ) is a city in the Pakistani province of Sindh along the western bank of the Indus River, directly across from the historic city of Rohri. Sukkur is the third largest city in Sindh after Karachi and Hyderabad, and 14th largest city of Pakistan by population. New Sukkur was established during the British era alongside the village of Sukkur. Sukkur's hill, along with the hill on the river island of Bukkur, form what is sometimes considered the "Gate of Sindh". Etymology The name Sukkur may derive from the Arabic word for "sugar," ''shakkar'', in reference to the sugarcane fields that have historically been abundant in the region. This may be an allusion to the relative prosperity of the region at the time. Others have suggested the name may derive from the word ''Suukh'', derived from a Sindhi word for "comfort."
