Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri
Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri (born 23 November 1950) is an Indian historian, writer, and Indologist. He is a specialist in Indian epics, Vedas, and Puranas. In 2012, Bhaduri undertook the large-scale project of creating an encyclopedia of the major Indian epics of the Mahabharata and Ramayana. The project is freely available online. Due to the difficulty and complexity of the task, it took Bhaduri a decade to conceptualize the project. During the compendium's creation, several Indian journalists stated that the encyclopaedia was poised to challenge many long-held beliefs about the epics. Sisir Kumar Bhaduri
Shishir Kumar Bhaduri or Sisir Kumar Bhaduri (2 October 1889 – 30 June 1959) was an Indian stage actor and theatre founder, who commonly referred to as the pioneer of modern Bengali theatre, where he was an actor, director, playwright and even scenic designer. He was survived by one son named, Asoke Kumar Bhaduri. Dhruba Kumar Bhaduri and Shubha Kumar Bhaduri were two of his grandsons. After Girish Chandra Ghosh, he introduced realism and naturalism to theatre. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian honour by the Government of India in 1959. Chapal Bhaduri is the last living female impersonator in Bengali theatre and perhaps even in Indian theatre. He did female impersonation in Jatra, a form of Bengali folk theatre. Satinath Bhaduri
Satinath Bhaduri (27 September 1906 – 30 March 1965) was a Bengali Indian novelist and politician. He was known by his literary pseudonym, Chitra Gupta. Early life and career He was born on 27 September 1906 in Purnia, Bengal Presidency, where Indubhusan Bhaduri, his father, practised law. His ancestral home was in Krishnanagar in the district of Nadia. He obtained an MA degree in economics from the University of Patna in 1930. In 1931 he completed his BL degree. He started practising law at Patna between 1932 and 1939. He then joined Indian National Congress and became a district secretary of Purnia. He was imprisoned in Bhagalpur Jail twice: 1940–41 and 1942–45. In 1948, he fell out with the Congress and joined the Socialist Party.
