Bevo Francis Award
The Bevo Francis Award is a college basketball award given annually since 2016. The award recognizes the top small college basketball player in the United States for a given season. The award is named after the late Bevo Francis, who earned national acclaim and All-American status for Rio Grande College in the 1950s. Eligible players must come from below NCAA Division I. Players are eligible if the play in the following college basketball divisions: *NCAA Division II *NCAA Division III * NAIA Division I * NAIA Division II * USCAA Division I * USCAA Division II *NCCAA Division I *NCCAA Division II The first winner was Dominez Burnett of Davenport University. Trevor Hudgins
Trevor Hudgins (born March 23, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats where he led the team to three consecutive NCAA Division II championships. Hudgins was named as the NABC Division II Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022. Early life Hudgins is the son of Sterling and Pat Hudgins. His father is a pastor. Hudgins had his beginnings in basketball by playing with a ball when he was old enough to walk. He also participated in football, soccer, bowling, golf and pool while growing up. Northwest Missouri State University is a public university in Maryville, Missouri. It has an enrollment of about 8,505 students. Northwest Missouri State Bearcats
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats are the athletic teams for Northwest Missouri State University, located in Maryville, Missouri. The Bearcats play in the NCAA Division II. Northwest is a founding member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in 1912 and has remained in the conference ever since. From their founding until 1937, they competed in the Amateur Athletic Union. From 1937 to 1957, they competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics before joining NCAA Division II.
