Trevor Hudgins
Trevor Hudgins (born March 23, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats where he led the team to three consecutive NCAA Division II championships. Hudgins was named as the NABC Division II Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022. Early life Hudgins is the son of Sterling and Pat Hudgins. His father is a pastor. Hudgins had his beginnings in basketball by playing with a ball when he was old enough to walk. He also participated in football, soccer, bowling, golf and pool while growing up. A two-way contract is a professional sports contract that stipulates that an athlete's salary is dependent upon the league in which the athlete is assigned to play. This is opposed to a one-way contract that would pay the same salary regardless of where the athlete is assigned to play. Justin Pitts
Justin James Pitts (born October 26, 1994) is an American basketball player for HLA Alicante of the Spanish LEB Oro. He played college basketball for the Northwest Missouri State University. A 5’10” point guard, Pitts was named the NCAA Division II National Player of the Year for the 2016–17 season. High school career Pitts played at Blue Springs South High School in Blue Springs, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City. The Amateur Athletic Association is an amateur basketball league that was created in 1897. It hosts the annual AAU National Tournament. All players participating have to be amateurs. During the 1960s players who left college before the formation of the American Basketball League and American Basketball Association had three options: the National Basketball Association, the Eastern League or AAU basketball. Ben McCollum
Benjamin M. McCollum (born April 12, 1981) is the men's basketball head coach at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. McCollum was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1999. He played basketball for two years at North Iowa Area Community College before transferring in 2001 to Northwest, where he played for Steve Tappmeyer as the school made its first Elite Eight appearance. He graduated from Northwest in 2003 with a degree in business finance and received a master's degree in athletic administration from the school in 2004. He was an assistant coach at Emporia State University from 2004 to 2008, then joined Northwest as its head coach in 2009.
