Betty Bonifay
Betty Bonifay is a professional water skier and mother to professional wakeboarders Shane and Parks Bonifay. In 1976, she and Sally Winter were instrumental in developing the technique for skiing on a 360-degree swivel binding that allowed turning in a full circle while on a single water ski. The 360 swivel ski debuted in the Cypress Gardens' Super Show in 1977. She has been designing safer equipment for over 30 years and owns her own business in creating a new, foam-filled swivel ski. Bonifay is one of the first women to perform on a swivel ski, that has a rotating binding of 360 degrees. Water skiing (also waterskiing or water-skiing) is a Surface water sports, surface water sport in which an individual is pulled behind a boat or a Cable skiing, cable ski installation over a body of water, skimming the surface on two skis or one ski. Parks Bonifay
Parks Bonifay (born September 30, 1981) is an American professional wakeboarder. Life and career Bonifay was born in Lake Alfred, Florida. He became a professional wakeboarder in 1994. Parks began competing as a 14-year-old, winning the X-Games in his first visit. He has held many major titles including the Pro Wakeboard Tour titles in 1999 and 2001. He began waterskiing at the age six months, 29 days old setting a new world record. He became the first documented wakeboarder to land the 1080 (a switch toeside 1080), doing so at a Bill Doster photoshoot in 1999. Bonifay was a recurring star on MTV's extreme action sports show Nitro Circus. He is sponsored by Ronix, FoxRed Bull Spy, MasterCraft, and Performance Ski & Surf.
