Roberto "Beto" Avila (born October 16, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Major League Soccer club Houston Dynamo. Career Austin Bold On April 22, 2019, Avila signed an academy contract with USL Championship side Austin Bold. He made his debut for Austin on May 14, coming off the bench in a 2–0 win over the Tulsa Roughnecks in an Open Cup match. On August 17, he made his league debut, coming on as a substitute in a 5–1 win vs Tulsa. Austin qualified for the playoffs after finishing 2nd in the Western Conference, but Avila did not appear in either of Austin's 2 playoff games. On September 5, 2020, Avila scored his first goal for Austin in a 1–1 draw against Tulsa. In a shortened 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Avila appeared in 10 of Austin's 16 games, making 3 starts and scoring 2 goals. Rio Grande Valley FC, also known as RGVFC or Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, is an American semi-professional soccer team based in Edinburg, Texas operated by Lone Star, LLC. They joined the USL Championship in the 2016 season. The team served as a hybrid affiliate of the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer. Chris Canetti, Houston Dynamo president, called the relationship "an important and necessary step." 2023 Houston Dynamo FC Season
The 2023 Houston Dynamo season was the 18th season of the team's existence since joining Major League Soccer (MLS) prior to the 2006 season. The Dynamo missed the playoffs in 2022 for the eighth time in nine years. 2023 was the first season under head coach Ben Olsen, who was hired on November 8, 2022. It was the second season under GM Pat Onstad and technical director Asher Mendelsohn. It was the third season (second full season) under majority owner Ted Segal. 2023 saw the Dynamo qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2017 after finishing 4th in the Western Conference. The 2022 Houston Dynamo season was the 17th season of the team's existence since joining Major League Soccer (MLS) prior to the 2006 season. The 2022 MLS Next Pro season is the inaugural season of MLS Next Pro, the reserve league of Major League Soccer. It is the first season since 2014 where MLS had a standalone reserve league, the previous season being the MLS Reserve League. The 2021 FC Edmonton season was the club's tenth competitive season as well as their third in the Canadian Premier League. Overview The 2021 season was very disappointing for FC Edmonton.
