Bethwel Yegon
Bethwel Yegon (born 5 January 1993) is a Kenyan marathon runner, who came second at the 2021 Berlin Marathon. Career In 2018, Yegon came fourth at the Kaptagat Forest Half Marathon race. In 2019, he came second in the 10 kilometre race, finishing behind countryman Shadrack Koech. Later in the year, he finished eighth at the 2019 Berlin Marathon in a time of 2:08:35. It was his marathon debut. Yegon was one of four Kenyans that competed at the 2021 Berlin Marathon, the other three being Festus Talam, Michael Njenga and Benard Kimeli. The magazine covers news, results, fixtures, coaching and product advice for all aspects of track and field, cross-country, road racing and race walking. Kenenisa Bekele ( om, Qananiisaa baqqalaa; am, ቀነኒሳ በቀለ; born 13 June 1982) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He was the world record holder in both the 5000-metre and 10000-metre from 2004 (5,000m) and 2005 (10,000m) until 2020. He won the gold medal in both the 5000 m and 10,000 m events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. At the 2004 Olympics, he won the gold medal in the 10,000 m and the silver medal in the 5000 m. He is the most successful runner in the history of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, with six long (12 km) course and five short (4 km) course titles. Marathon
The marathon is a long-distance foot race with a distance of , usually run as a road race, but the distance can be covered on trail routes. The marathon can be completed by running or with a run/walk strategy. There are also wheelchair divisions. The 2019 Berlin Marathon was a marathon race held on 29 September 2019 in Berlin, Germany. It was the 46th edition of the annual Berlin Marathon. The marathon distance is just over in length and the course is run around the city and starts and finishes in the Tiergarten. The elite men's race was won by Kenenisa Bekele in 2:01:41, two seconds slower than the world record set by Eliud Kipchoge in 2018.
