Jean Bethke Elshtain
Jean Paulette Bethke Elshtain (1941–2013) was an American ethicist, political philosopher, and public intellectual. She was the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Professor of Social and Political Ethics in the University of Chicago Divinity School with a joint appointment in the department of political science. Biography Early life Elshtain was born on January 6, 1941, to Paul Bethke and Hellen Lind in Windsor, Colorado. She grew up in Timnath, Colorado. She was from a Lutheran background. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University and master's degrees in history from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Colorado. Ricardo Arap Bethke Galdames (born 12 March 1980) is a Mexican actor. Early life Bethke was born on 12 March 1980 in Nairobi, Kenya, as Ricardo Arap Bethke Galdames. In the African language "Arap Bethke" means "Bethke's son." His father, Claus Bethke is German and his mother, Patricia Galdames is Chilean. He lived in Nairobi until he was 5 years old. Bruce Bethke
Bruce Bethke (born 1955) is an American author best known for his 1983 short story ''Cyberpunk'' which led to the widespread use of the term, including for the cyberpunk subgenre of science fiction. His novel, ''Headcrash'', won the Philip K. Dick Award in 1995 for SF original paperback published in the US. Bethke's collected thoughts on the cyberpunk subculture are available on his website, in an essay entitled "The Etymology of Cyberpunk". Bethke served as a judge on the Philip K. Dick Award in 2013. Biography Bethke did his first degree at the University of Cape Town, he followed that up with a master's degree in sacred music from the American Southern Methodist University. Bethke was the director of music and precentor at the St. Michael and St. George Cathedral in Grahamstown as well as being the conductor of the Rhodes University Chamber Choir. Sigfried Bethke (born April 15, 1954 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein) is a German physicist and science manager. Michael Bethke is an American murderer from Calumet City, Illinois, who killed and decapitated Joseph Lesinski, his 49-year-old co-worker at the Burnham, Illinois, White Hen Pantry grocery store, on June 6, 1991. Described as having "chronic paranoid schizophrenia", Bethke was found not guilty by reason of insanity and sentenced to up to 49 years in a state mental institution.
