Katie Bethke
Katelyn O'Hern Bethke (born September 3, 1988) is a retired American soccer player who last represented Swedish Damallsvenskan club Eskilstuna United DFF, having previously played for Mallbackens IF. Club career Bethke played for Atlanta Beat in the WPS in 2011. On July 24, 2011, Bethke signed a deal with Norwegian Toppserien club Arna-Bjørnar. On January 19, 2012, Bethke joined German Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen where she played 7 of the remaining season matches. Bethke signed a contract with Avaldsnes IL in the Toppserien in January 2013. For the 2015 season she moved to Sweden and played in the Damallsvenskan, firstly for Mallbackens IF and in July she signed with Eskilstuna United DFF. On 1 September 2015, it was announced by Eskilstuna United that Bethke requested the termination of her contract, as she decided to retired from football. Damallsvenskan
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Arna-Bjørnar Fotball is a Norwegian football club from Arna, Bergen. It was founded in late 2000 as a merger between the football branches from ''IL Bjørnar'' and ''Arna T&IL'', and replaced Bjørnar IL in the league system from 2001. The women's team has played since then in the '' Toppserien'' apart from the 2005 season when it was in the First divisjon.
