Bernhard Stokke
Bernhard Stokke (24 September 1896 – 17 January 1979) was a Norwegian educationalist, textbook writer and children's writer. Personal life Stokke was born in Kvikne, the son of teacher Thomas Stokke and Beret Brobak Tronsaune. He married Johanna Aarvold in 1920. Career Stokke combined working as a teacher with part-time studies at the University of Oslo. He graduated in geography, astronomy and chemistry in 1930. While studying he worked as a deputy teacher at various primary schools, and also at the institution Toftes Gave. From 1927 he was assigned a permanent position at ''Tåsen primary school'' in Aker. ''I natt rømmer vi'' is a Norwegian children's book from 1932, written by Bernhard Stokke. The book won first prize in Windju Simonsen's contest for "Best book for boys", and was a bestseller. Plot The book is a story about two boys fleeing from a school institution for "bad children". The model was quite obviously the institution Toftes Gave, located at the island Helgøya in the lake Mjøsa Mjøsa is Norway's largest lake, as well as one of the deepest lakes in Norway and in Europe. Kvikne
Kvikne is a former municipality that was part of the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality of Kvikne existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1966 when it was split between the present-day municipalities of Tynset (in what is now Innlandet county) and Rennebu (in what is now Trøndelag county). The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Kvikne where Kvikne Church is located. Copper mining and soapstone quarries were historically significant industries in the municipality. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
