Bernardino Baldi
Bernardino Baldi (5 June 1553 – 10 October 1617) was an Italian mathematician, poet, translator and priest. Baldi descended from a noble family from Urbino, Marche, where he was born. He pursued his studies at Padua, and is said to have spoken about sixteen languages during his lifetime, though according to Tiraboschi the inscription on his tomb limits the number to twelve. The appearance of the plague at Padua forced him to return to his native city. Shortly afterwards he was called to act as tutor to Ferrante Gonzaga, from whom he received the rich abbey of Guastalla. Bernardino de Mendoza (Granada, 1501 – Saint-Quentin 1557), was a Spanish aristocrat from the House of Mendoza and Captain General of the Galleys of Spain. He was the third son of Íñigo López de Mendoza y Quiñones, 1st Marquis of Mondéjar and Francesca Pacheco. His siblings were Luis, Maria, Antonio and Diego Hurtado. Early days of naval career Bernardino was destined for a career in the Spanish Navy. Already in his youth, he sailed with two galleys to fight the Barbary corsairs in the Mediterranean Sea, at his own expense. Bernardino Gatti
Bernardino Gatti (c.1495 – 22 February 1576) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance, active mainly in Parma and Cremona. He is also commonly called il Sojaro. He was born in or near Pavia or Cremona. His early apprenticeship is unclear, though he was influenced by the pre-eminent local painters: Pordenone, alongside whose works are many of Gatti's frescoes, as well as Correggio. Gatti worked for 12 years, 1560–72, in the fresco decoration of the cupola of the duomo of Parma, where he was assisted by Bartholomaeus Spranger. His major works are the large fresco in the refectory of San Pietro in Cremona from 1552, frescoes in the dome of the Santa Maria della Steccata (1560–66) in Parma, and his ''Assunta'' in the Duomo of Cremona. Bernardino Gagliardi (Città di Castello, 1609 - Perugia, 1660) was an Italian Baroque painter, generally producing frescos for churches. He joined the Academy of St Luke, becoming its president in 1655. Biography He initially trained with a painter and architect named Rinaldo Rinaldi in Castello. He moved to Rome to join the studio of Avanzino Nucci who was also from Città di Castello. In Rome, he painted for the churches of San Bernardino ai Monti and San Sebastiano al Palatino. Pope Urban VII knighted him with a Cross of the Order of San Maurizio. Gagliardi joined the Academy of St Luke and became its president in 1655. Bernardino Echeverría Ruiz (born 12 November 1912 in Cotacachi, Imbabura, Ecuador and died on 6 April 2000 in Quito Ecuador) was a Roman Catholic Cardinal. Biography He joined the Franciscan order in 1928, and was ordained in 1937. He attended the Pontifical University in Rome and obtained a B.A. degree in Philosophy in 1941.
