Bernard Rajzman
Bernard Rajzman (born April 25, 1957) is a former Brazilian volleyball player. He was born in Rio de Janeiro. He was enshrined in the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2005. Nowadays, Bernard is a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Rajzman began his sports career at the age of 11, playing basketball for Fluminense, but traded the sport for volleyball because he was too short. At the age of 17 he entered the Brazil men's national volleyball team, for which he played in three Olympics, winning a silver medal in Los Angeles 1984. He also won seven South American Championships, one gold medal at the 1983 Pan-American Games, silver in the 1982 FIVB Men's World Championship and bronze in the 1981 Volleyball World Cup. He developed the "Star Trek" serve, adapted from the beach volleyball, in which the ball is hit from below with enough force that it sails dozens of feet over the court. Rio De Janeiro

Pan-American Games
The Pan American Games (also known colloquially as the Pan Am Games) is a continental multi-sport event in the Americas featuring summer sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The competition is held among athletes from nations of the Americas, every four years in the year before the Summer Olympic Games. The only Winter Pan American Games were held in 1990. In 2021, the Junior Pan American Games was held for the first time specifically for young athletes. Brazilian Jews
The history of the Jews in Brazil begins during the settlement of Europeans in the new world. Although only baptized Christians were subject to the Inquisition, Jews started settling in Brazil when the Inquisition reached Portugal, in the 16th century. They arrived in Brazil during the period of Dutch rule, setting up in Recife the first synagogue in the Americas, the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, as early as 1636. Most of those Jews were Sephardic Jews who had fled the Inquisition in Spain and Portugal to the religious freedom of the Netherlands. The Portuguese Inquisition expanded its scope of operations from Portugal to Portugal's colonial possessions, including Brazil, Cape Verde, and Goa, where it continued investigating and trying cases based on supposed breaches of orthodox Roman Catholicism until 1821. Phil Rajzman
Phil Rajzman (born Philip Wollens Rajzman on 27 June 1982 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian professional surfer and two time World Surf League (WSL) world champion. As a disciple of one of the pioneers in Brazilian surfing, Rico de Souza, Rajzman began catching waves at six years old and was recognized as a prodigy in Brazilian surfing. He has been consistently present on podiums since 1994, when he started competing. At the age of 15 Rajzman became a known figure, with his great performances on giant waves in Hawaii. He was invited to join the first Brazilian Tow-In Team, where the surfer is pulled by a jet-ski, searching for the biggest and best waves possible. In 2002, Rajzman participated in the documentary film ''Surf Adventures'', including a sequence of his maneuvers at Fernando de Noronha. The 125th IOC Session took place at the Buenos Aires Hilton in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 7 to 10 September 2013. On 7 September, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) elected Tokyo as the host city of the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Wrestling was restored to the Olympic sports program for 2020 and 2024.
