Bernard Hackett
Bernard Hackett (7 September 1933 - 21 May 2022) was an English former professional footballer, builder and Black Country poet. He played in The Football League for Chester in the 1950s. He turned professional in 1953 but left two years later without making a league appearance. Hackett was one of several forwards to sign for Chester in the summer of 1955, as manager Louis Page also purchased Charlie Jolley, George Allman, Jack Haines, Jim Collins and Frank Wayman. The competition for places and a knee injury meant Hackett was not a regular in the side and he was released in the summer of 1957. Ramsbottom
Ramsbottom is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, Greater Manchester, England. The population at the 2011 census was 17,872. Historically in Lancashire, it is on the River Irwell in the West Pennine Moors, northwest of Bury, and of Manchester. Its name is believed to derive from Old English and , meaning 'valley of the ram'. Its Victorian architecture, Pennine landscape and industrial heritage, including the East Lancashire Railway, contribute to heritage tourism in the town. Frank Wayman
Frank Wayman (30 December 1931 − 7 February 2008) was an English footballer. Born in Bishop Auckland, Wayman began his career in professional football as a winger with Preston North End in 1953, but never made any appearances for Preston's first team. In 1955, he joined Chester, where he spent one season, playing 30 league games. He finished his career at the professional level at Darlington, where he made a single appearance for the first-team. He later played for several non-league clubs in the North East. Wayman died in February 2008, after being struck by a motorcycle as he crossed the A167 near Ferryhill Ferryhill is a town in County Durham, England, with an estimated population in 2018 of 9,362. Jack Haines
John Thomas William Haines (24 April 1920 – 13 March 1987) was an English professional footballer who played as an inside forward. During his playing career, Haines made over 300 appearances in the Football League, and earned one cap for the English national side in 1948. Career Club career Born in Wickhamford, Haines played his early football for Evesham Town, Badsey Rangers, Charlton Kings and Cheltenham Town, before joining Liverpool in 1937. He never made a league appearance for Liverpool, and his playing career was interrupted in 1939 by World War II. When play resumed in 1946, Haines moved to Swansea Town, and later played for Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion, Bradford Park Avenue, Rochdale and Chester, before playing non-league football with Wellington United, Kidderminster Harriers and Evesham Town.
