Bernadine Custer (June 16, 1900 - November 2, 1991), also known as Bernadine Custer Sharp and Mrs. A.E. Sharp was a 20th-century American painter, illustrator and WPA muralist who worked in New York City and Vermont. Her artistic style has been described as "American Regionalism" and often features genre paintings and watercolors inspired by her neighbors and surroundings. Her work has been compared to other artists of her generation such as Thomas Hart Benton (painter), Thomas Hart Benton, Grant Wood, and Norman Rockwell. Bernadine Hayes (circa 1912 – August 29, 1987) was an American singer and an actress on radio and stage and in films and vaudeville. In 1930, she was named the most beautiful radio performer in America. Early years Hayes was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Hayes, and she had eight younger siblings. When she was in high school, she worked in a department store during vacation breaks. Career Hayes first sang professionally when, at age 18, she filled in as a singer at Loew's State Theatre in St. Louis. A contract soon resulted, and she performed with Teddy Joyce and his band on a vaudeville tour. Bernadine Newsom Denning (1930 – January 11, 2011) was an educator and civil rights activist recognised in the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame. Biography Denning née Newsom was born in 1930 in Detroit. At the age of 16, she taught swimming at the Lucy Thurman branch of the Detroit YWCA. In 1951, she began work as a physical education teacher in Detroit public schools; she retired as assistant superintendent for community relations. She was also assistant professor of education at the University of Michigan. She served on the board of trustees for Central Michigan University. Bernadine Kennedy Kent is a former state representative for the 25th District of the Ohio House of Representatives. She is a Democrat. The district consists of a portion of Columbus as well as portions of Blendon, Clinton, Mifflin and Sharon townships in Franklin County. Bernadine L. Craft is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the Wyoming State Senate and previously a member of Wyoming House of Representatives, and had represented the 12th district from January 7, 2013 to January 10, 2017. Craft first ran for and won a seat in the Wyoming House of Representatives in 2006, representing the city of Rock Springs. Bernadene Hayes (March 15, 1912 – August 29, 1987) was an American film and television actress. Early years Hayes was born at 3855 Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Hayes. She had three brothers and three sisters. She began performing in amateur productions when she was 9 years old. She graduated from Yeatman High School and attended Washington University for one semester. Career Hayes gained acting experience on stage at the Pasadena Playhouse and in Little Theatre productions.
