Bergweg is a street in Rotterdam, which connects Rotterdam with Bergschenhoek through Hillegersberg. Nowadays the Bergweg is a road in the neighborhood Oude Noorden between the Schiekade and Gordelweg. The buildings mostly dating from the early twentieth century. Hillegersberg
Hillegersberg is a neighbourhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Primarily a green residential area with lakes, canals and parks, it was incorporated into the city of Rotterdam in 1941. History Hillegersberg was named after Hildegard van Vlaanderen, wife of Count Dirk II of Holland and West Friesland (920-988). The village was founded on a hill, form by a ridge of sand known locally as a donk or morre. Local flint finds here indicate pre-historic occupation and later discoveries of Roman pottery, medals as well as a bust of Emperor Hadrian show subsequent early activity in the area. According to legend, this ridge was formed by sand dropped from the apron of the mythical giant Hillegonda. She was said to have built her house on this ridge and so Hillegersberg, then known as Hillegonda's mountain, was named. Bergschenhoek
270px, Town sign Bergschenhoek () is a town and former municipality in the municipality of Lansingerland, in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is situated roughly 10 km to the north of Rotterdam. The town had a population of 18,475 in 2019, and covered an area of 15.52 km² (5.99 mile²) of which 0.63 km² (0.24 mile²) is water. On 1 January 2007, the town was merged with neighbouring towns Berkel en Rodenrijs and Bleiswijk to form the new municipality Lansingerland; these three towns collectively are known locally as the "3B Hoek". Rotterdam Noord Railway Station
Rotterdam Noord is a railway station in the city of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, located on the Utrecht–Rotterdam railway. It sits at the border between the two Rotterdam boroughs Noord and Hillegersberg-Schiebroek. History In 1899, the railway station ''Hillegersberg'' was opened on the new connecting line (''Ceintuurbaan'') between the railway from Rotterdam Delftsche Poort to Leiden, and the railway from Rotterdam Maasstation to Utrecht. In 1953 the railway from Rotterdam to Utrecht was rerouted to the new Rotterdam Centraal railway station through Hillegersberg. A new station building was constructed, and the station was renamed ''Rotterdam Noord''. Rotterdam Noord is designed by architect Sybold van Ravesteyn who has also designed the stations Rotterdam Centraal, Eindhoven, and many other railway stations and buildings in the Netherlands.
