Jakob Albertus Victor (Jaap) Berghuis, (15 August 1945 – 29 July 2005) was a Dutch artist. Born in the town of Smilde, Drenthe Province, in the Netherlands, Berghuis graduated cum laude in interior design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, followed by a degree in painting at the Ateliers '63 (now De Ateliers) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. From 1969 to 1989 Berghuis exhibited with the renowned Art & Project Gallery in Amsterdam, with two exhibitions in 1974 and one in 1980. Steven Berghuis
Steven Berghuis (born 19 December 1991) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays for Eredivisie club Ajax and the Netherlands national team. He can play as either a winger or attacking midfielder. Berghuis made his debut for the Netherlands in 2016, and represented the national team at UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Club career Youth career Berghuis came through the youth system at FC Twente, following spells with the youth clubs of local amateur club WSV Apeldoorn, then Eerste Divisie side Go Ahead Eagles. As a 16-year-old, he scored WSV's only goal in a 4–1 friendly match defeat to Feyenoord. Twente One year later, Berghuis joined Twente, and in June 2010, he signed a professional contract lasting until 2012. Thomas Jakob Berghuis is a curator, art historian, and former museum director based in Leiden, Netherlands. Career From 2008 to 2013 Berghuis worked as a lecturer in Asian Art at the University of Sydney. From 2013 to May 2015 he was the Robert H. N. Ho Curator of Chinese Art at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, after which he Berghuis moved to Jakarta, Indonesia to become the first director of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (Museum MACAN), launched in January 2016.
