Alfred Bentz
Alfred Theodor Bentz (26 July 1897 – 11 June 1964) was a German geologist and paleontologist who worked at the Preußischen Geologischen Bundesanstalt and served as an authority on the management of oil and gas reserves in Germany during the Third Reich. Although he reported directly to Hermann Göring, he was not a member of the Nazi party and was reinstated after the war, continuing to direct geology research in the post war years. Bentz was born in Heidenheim in the eastern Swabian Alb to confectioner Karl Alfos and Pauline Adelheid Keller. Following early education, and a couple of years in military service he studied at the University of Munich followed by a doctorate from the University of Tübingen under Edwin Hennig. His thesis was on the stratigraphy of the Middle Jurassic and the tectonics at the western rim of the Nördlingen Ries. At that time the impact theory for dinosaur extinction had not been proposed and he was skeptical of the idea after it was proposed. ...

Chad Bentz
Chad Robert Bentz (born May 5, 1980) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball. Bentz grew up in Juneau, and he made history on April 7, 2004, by becoming the second pitcher, after Jim Abbott, to play in the Major Leagues after being born without one of his hands. Bentz fielded and caught with his glove the same way Abbott did when he played in the 1980s and early 1990s. Like Abbott, Bentz has a deformed right hand. As a freshman in college, Bentz met Abbott who became his mentor. He played in 36 games for Montreal in 2004, winning none and losing three, with an ERA of 5.86. He played only four games for Florida in 2005, pitching only two innings, and allowing seven earned runs. His daughter Kyla Bentz was born in 2004. Cliff Stewart Bentz (born January 12, 1952) is an American lawyer, rancher, and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Oregon's 2nd congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, he is the ranking member on the House Natural Resources Committee Subcommittee on Water, Oceans and Wildlife and sits on the House Judiciary Committee. He previously served in the Oregon Senate, representing the 30th district in Eastern Oregon. Edward Wilhelm Bentz (June 2, 1894 – October 31, 1979) was an American bank robber and Depression-era outlaw. He was associated with several high-profile public enemies during his criminal career, including Harvey Bailey, Albert Bates, George "Machine Gun" Kelly and Baby Face Nelson. He was eventually captured by the FBI and sentenced to Alcatraz. Biography Little information is known of his early life; however, most accounts agree that Eddie Bentz was born in Pipestone, Minnesota (or South Dakota) on June 2, 1894. His father was supposedly killed by a runaway horse when he was a child and his family later moved to Tacoma, Washington. Joseph "Gunnar" Bentz (born January 3, 1996) is an American former competitive swimmer and Olympic gold medalist. Early life Bentz graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School in 2014. Career He is a four-time medalist (two gold, two bronze) at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships and a two-time medalist (one silver, one bronze) at the Pan American Games. Bentz competes for the University of Georgia with the Georgia Bulldogs swimming and diving team in American collegiate swimming.
