David Bentz
David Bentz is an American politician. He was a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing district 18. Bentz won a special election on September 12, 2015, to replace Democrat Michael Barbieri, who had resigned the month before to take a job with the state government. Michael Barbieri (politician)
Michael A. Barbieri (born July 28, 1949) is an American politician. He was a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives from January 2009 until August 2015. In 2015, Barbieri resigned from his office to take an appointed $144,213 position as director of the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health. The job position was not advertised, and Barbieri and the Democratic Party of Delaware were criticized for cronyism. A special election was held to fill Barbieri's seat, which was won by David Bentz. In July 2017, Barbieri resigned from his director position after a patient at one of the treatment centers he oversaw died of neglect. Barbieri was also under scrutiny due to child sexual abuse allegations against a worker at an outpatient treatment facility he owned at the time of the abuse. Dover () is the capital and second-largest city of the U.S. state of Delaware. The Delaware General Assembly is the legislature of the U.S. state of Delaware. It is a bicameral legislature composed of the Delaware Senate with 21 senators and the Delaware House of Representatives with 41 representatives. Bear is a census-designated place (CDP) in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The population was 19,371 at the 2010 census. Originally a small crossroads in a rural area, approximately south of Wilmington, the area supported small farms growing mainly corn and cattle. In the late 1980s and 1990s Bear became a popular location for the construction of sprawling housing developments and shopping centers along U.S. Route 40.
